BMW and M Power Owners

Why would you want a 4 wheel drive one? It's also a completely basic specification. I'm not really sure a 320i like that has any appeal at all.

If you're going to get a BMW, get a good one, otherwise you end up with all the disadvantages of an old BMW without any of the advantages - the whole point is they do great cars with great engines and great gearboxes that drive really well. A good one is arguably worth putting up with the costs involved as they get older, but I don't see why you'd want to bother with that for a 320i like that. Even that instrument cluster has the really small display.

Unfortunately whilst prices are still high everywhere I'm not going to be forking out for a car over 2020 and new.

As said I'll look for 2015+ models . I'm more concerned about having a good engine, gearbox and clutch system.

Entertainment systems and things like nav units go out of date quickly.

Nobody said you needed a 2020 - just not a bottom of the range car. What is the appeal of a 320i with zero specification?

That one has plenty of things that will make it annoying to own as an older car - a direct injection system, a turbo, a 4 wheel drive system, yet it offers none of the things that would make it a great car - the engine isn't great, it isn't very powerful, what is the point in it?

I know we keep going round in circles here but you seem to focused on getting the right badge you're going to end up buying a terrible car with the right badge instead of a great car with the wrong one.

The navigation system isn't that important because you can easily upgrade these - but the rest of the specification is. Why are you buying a BMW if you're not interested in any of the things that makes a BMW great?

Ok I'll keep looking, Im aiming for the B48 engined car.

Does anyone know the best way to get ISTA please? I’ve had to change the TMS module in one of my headlights and it’s still not working, so I wanted to run a diagnostic to see what’s going on.

Morning all,

I'm just wondering whether anyone with a 330e (or otherwise) has seen this error before. The BMW Service Centre did a firmware update, but it hasn't resolved it and it now prevents the car charging properly.

I wish I'd bought the 320i now...this has been quite problematic.

can you easily check/get-checked the 12V battery checked with a voltmeter say ? How is it going in terms of electric range/consumption you are getting.
(e: or do you know if 12v battery has been changed since new)

New car day yesterday. Had to drive her 160 miles from pickup to south London. What an absolute great motorway car. The self drive and adaptive cruise is so much better than other brand implementations ive used.

Its no M car but it wafts down the motorway in comfort and the sound system bangs out those Warhammer Audio books. The display key is a bit silly and I've already decided to use the normal key for my day to day use.

Think I will replace the chrome front grill, rear boot trim and exhaust surrounds with black versions. It has black around the windows but chrome front and back. Not sure why but not a big deal to change.

It's a 7 Series, it looks absolutely great as it is. If you wanted to fit black grilles and black exhausts you should have bought a 320d M Sport and stuck an M PERFORMANCE sticker on the side :D

It's a luxury car and the silver trim really suits it.

I will try and look at the 12 V battery, thanks. I don't know if it has been charged. The electric range/consumption has been good, so I don't think it's caused any issues other than the charging problem. But if it doesn't charge, that makes the car a bit rubbish.

I've had that before on different cars (non-hybrid), it's nothing to worry about unless it keeps happening.

I wouldn't mind except it seems to have stopped the battery charging overnight.

Looks great, I'd probably leave the chrome as it is. Mine is factory spec extended shadowline so is dechromed anyway. It's up to you though!

I collected my M4 Competition from that exact handover bay!

Maybe, I find it strange how it isn't all chrome or all black. But a mixture of both that's all.

It is your fault im even thinking of changing it. When i saw yours I just thought it looks better. Maybe because its all black anyways.

Maybe it's just because my dad had loads of excessively chrome covered Jags in the 90s but i'm not a fan of chrome on cars now, gloss black or satin/brushed finished trim looks far nicer IMO.

Until it's a week old when it's just a mess of swirl marks :D

The glossy trim on my doors is very annoying to keep looking perfect.
