It was £2.5k for the lights and modules, around £2-300 for fitting (hard to judge as I had the front shock dust covers replaced at the same time), and £50 for coding.@ChrisD. How much did you pay for your upgraded lights on the M3? How much was fitment?

Is your car an F model? £1k is suspiciously cheap for LCI Icons /w modules.
Correct, HBA is not enough. The lights will still work, albeit with no adaptive functions.think the adaptive LEDs need the KaFUS camera that is also used for lane assist and speed limit sign recognition.
Icons aren’t available for the F30, it’s just standard adaptive LED from what I can tell
They are, they were the upgraded headlight option, with the normal LED lights standard fit.
But surely every 340i would have at least the standard LED lights with the upgraded option being the Icon LED headlights?
So it's not clear what you're upgrading to if it isn't the icon?
The car has presence. An M5 just does it for me in a way that Ferraris or McLaren's don’t.I've also been surprised at just how much of a conversation starter it is when out and about, in the last six-months I've had 15+ either full on conversations with strangers at petrol stations or car parks or more brief people just saying "nice car" and a few times I've spotted people taking a photo - this is not something I expected at all -
With all the adaptive functions, such as boxing out cars etc?I've got the icon adaptive LEDs on my F36 440i
Doesn't need the kafas, mine's just the bog standard HBA cam and adaptives work just fine.
I have adaptive xenons on my F23 and they box out on high beam. With all the adaptive functions, such as boxing out cars etc?
I bought my M5C new. Its just over 3 years old now, Just bought the extended warranty. The thing has been faultless since new. Had the recall for the expansion tank before it needed it but thats it.I'd often read people online talk about cars having "too much power for the roads" which I generally dismissed as a slightly absurd comment...
Well... I'm coming up to over six months of F90 M5 ownership and I now know what those people meant!
I absolutely the love the car. Being slightly unusual in loving big saloon cars since I could drive and having owned various diesel saloons over the years, I don't think anything else would have been sufficient to satisfy my desire, than the ultimate super-saloon that is the M5 with a roaring V8.
The feel good factor of ownership is intangible, just walking up to it and firing it up each morning is a joy. I've also been surprised at just how much of a conversation starter it is when out and about, in the last six-months I've had 15+ either full on conversations with strangers at petrol stations or car parks or more brief people just saying "nice car" and a few times I've spotted people taking a photo - this is not something I expected at all - presumed that kind of stuff only happened with Ferraris etc but it's been nice nonetheless.
Now... back to the power bit... the limit of this car just cannot be reached or even remotely reached on the road. You can absolutely hammer the pedal and press on and the car just responds "is that it... MORE". It's very difficult to describe but it feels like unlimited power.
I've read about it online as I presumed to some degree it could just be me as I come from a line of 3.0 diesel Mercs, Jags etc. so I'm not a seasoned 600bhp+ V8 twin-turbo owner. But there seems to be a general consensus online of similar bewilderment of the amount of power - not that anyone anticipates an M5 to be slow but its more so the relentless power delivery.
This is all amazing technically and on paper, but when you turn on to a country lane smash the pedal and you're at 95+ in next to no time with almost no drama and the car still doesn't even feel remotely stretched... thing get to licence losing speeds very quickly.
Absolutely no regrets in purchasing as if I didn't it would've always been a "why didn't I do it!"... I anticipated keeping this for 2-3 years but in the next 6-12 months I'll be considering alternatives...
If anyone has made a similar move would be interested in what you went for.
Yes, all singing and dancing moving headlights tooWith all the adaptive functions, such as boxing out cars etc?
I have adaptive xenons on my F23 and they box out on high beam.
Maybe it's different on the M3 then, my understanding is you need the additional camera on the front for a retrofit if the car doesn't already have adaptive LEDs. My car has lane assist/blindspot/collision detection etc so it wasn't an issue, straight swap plus coding.Yes, all singing and dancing moving headlights too
Not too sure, my icon adaptives were specced from factory so I guess already coded/sorted, unless that HBA camera is actually a kafas?Maybe it's different on the M3 then, my understanding is you need the additional camera on the front for a retrofit if the car doesn't already have adaptive LEDs.
Why is it brake fluid only ? Should align to other bitsGo to book a brake fluid service, oh nice £68, grand.
