BMW and M Power Owners

getting fed up trying to buy a BMW at this stage

it seems each BMW I find I like - arrange to go and see (often 4-5 days later due to work and family constraints) - its sold (often the day before my visit) - probably using my arranged visit as leverage to other potential buyers

seems the "done thing" is to pay a deposit in advance with the view that the car is as described

to some that may be what they feel comfortable with - for me its not

There is absolutely no reason to be doing that unless you're trying to find something particularly rare and special.

They aren't the easiest cars to sell with the bigger 6 cylinder engines so I'm surprised you're having such trouble

I've been looking for a 6 cylinder - M Sport 3 series manual - 5 door estate or saloon (as will be used as a family car)

don't seem to be that many around unfortunately :( my budget is up to 14-15k so perhaps that is what is hampering it

Surely you could get a 335i Saloon with low mileage and possibly over 2008 which if i'm right was when the Tax was £280 instead of £475

Even with a serious discount I could see it costing more than £7300. Also Tax is free and you dont have £30K tied up.
I have been saving up for an E90 M3 but this seems to make sense.
I've asked for a price with business Nav and auto. if it comes back reasonable I think I will go for one.

I drove one the other day and it was easily as quick as my E46 M3 was and the 8 speed auto was amazing.

I might go for Estoril with Red leather as it would be a rental.

It's totally base spec though which you can pick up new for £26k right now rather than £30k. Don't get me wrong, it's a good deal, but it's still £7.5k to rent a car for 2 years.

If you want to lease something it's hard to see the downside of that particular offer, mind.

Business nav is crap, why would you request that? I doubt Pro is much more expensive as it's residually beneficial.

Yeh not sure about Business Nav. I will get a price on Pro Nav and see what the difference is.

I wouldn't normally lease a car but I think this looks cheaper than buying and I can put my cash into another BTL.

Just shooting ideas around at the moment but certainly looks attractive.

I'm guessing the BIK on a M135i as a company car would be a bit ridiculous and not worth considering?

Anyone ever had to get a spare key before, I've got the diamond one and while it starts the car it doesnt do the central locking, balls to paying BMW over £100 for one...

Its annoying seeing all these cheap leases for nice cars whilst decent used 535 M Sport's refuse to sink below £30k cash even for a 3 year old one :(
There are 2 on autotrader for 25k now one auto and one man.

There is also a lovely 550i se there for the same price

The manual has been there for ages and keeps dropping in price, it started much higher. It seems that literally nobody wants a manual.

Sadly... that might even include me. ZF 8 Speed <3 :(

Can't find the auto though.
