BMW and M Power Owners

Whilst undoubtedly a cracking all rounder, I'd be all kinds of upset if I paid £20k+ for something that looked like that. Especially when you consider how good looking the plain old F10 is

Replaced my tensioner pulley as the old one was screwed but unfortunately the new one seems a tiny bit loose once fitted, I have no idea why.
So after removing and refitting the bearing, I was convinced that the bearing was faulty as I could sense a small bit of play. I re-greased the old bearing and the noise still persists. From reading online, it's quite likely to be the tensioner itself. Apparently, a small bit of internal greasing will mean that the mechanical tensioner is good to go again so I'll take it off and have a look. Otherwise, I'll order a replacement. This car is killing me at the moment :(

I've never noticed the difference in the M135i. Then again to me it feels absolutely rapid regardless and I doubt I would be able to notice the difference of 20-30bhp.

Presumably though the manufacturer does not pick a recommended RON rating out of thin air. They have nothing to gain from your choice of a particular fuel. If they recommend a particular fuel type, then there must be some reason for it, and when the cost of using it is a complete triviality, why would you ignore that?

Looked last night when filling the car up, states 95ron which is unusual

Been semi tempted by those M135 deals so got some quotes back, with the options I'd want and mileage it was coming back as about £360 a month which whilst still cheap I'm not sure makes it a good enough deal for me to go for it.

Even just jumping into a no options model at that price wouldn't be a bad thing at all to do it 'on the cheap' as such.

The M135i at £209+VAT makes a lot of sense if you're in the market for a car at £209+VAT right now, but I can't help but think that the residual performance of the better looking M235i ought to be similar if not better the the M135i & therefore we ought to see better lease deals coming through on those over the next 6 months, & I wouldn't want to be 6 months into a M135i lease & looking longingly at the M235i...

Trying to see what I'd do to trim the fat off the options to just try and make it more of a better value play, but it's tricky.

As much as everyone will disagree I can do without the nav options, yes they make the car better and if I was buying then it'd be a no brainer, but as long as I can plug an iPhone in and have the car play stuff I'm happy. I'm more concerned at needing the HK audio to bring it up to a better standard.

It's all the little things though that add up, driver comfort package, heated seats, hell even met paint are all things ideally I'd want, but when trying to do things 'cheap' is it worth it?

I'll probably just end up procrastinating and keeping the A3 another year :p

You'd be committing to spending years in it without the flexibility you currently have, so it's got to be right, & imo, if you can't afford/justify doing it right, wait until you can... :)

Fuel pump. Nightmare.

Also, some first class plonker has put Accelera's on the wheels I bought. Utter tripe in all conditions, frankly dangerous in the cold/wet/dry. New tyres should be on this weekend praise the lord!

Filled up with V-Power yesterday, expecting no discernible difference other than the huge grin on my face that having a LEGO F1 car gives me :D

What is the deal with BMW 0% finance? Where is the catch?

I specced up a 640d Coupe the other day (my ideal car) it came to just shy of £100k with the options I would want (and probably some I would never use, but always liked a Q car so night vision etc would be a laugh) and at the end they offer 0% interest on all 3 of their finance options. This tells me they are trying to get rid of them but it is such a great car apparently so that makes no sense? How do they make any money on top of the price of the car at 0%?

Finally upgraded my car.

After having owned a few of these e39 models over numerous years - 530d, 530i, 530i.

This is very different, not just because its a bit faster.

Ahh, a lovely M5 in it's natural habitat ;)

I imagine they've already got a pretty decent profit margin on a £100k car.

I'm somewhat suprised you need to ask - it's a £100,000 diesel 5 Series that looks a bit nicer. It's fairly obvious where the profit is in that

The thought of paying 100k for a diesel 6 series is madness to me. ONE HUNDRED GRAND. Just me? Probably.
