Not on his car, the mirrors are bodycoloured.

Like I said, its the trim on the doors.
Yes, body coloured mirrors with a gloss shadow line lower section i.e the shadow :)

What are you talking about? The E39 M5 doesnt have a 'lower section' on its mirrors. The mirror housing itself is painted plastic in the colour of the vehicle.

There. Bodycoloured mirror. As I said, on the E39 M5 the high gloss shadowline is the bit on the doors - it goes up around the windows and part of it is visible in that photo, too.

Why are we even arguing about this?

looked at 888s and ao48s but they were nearly £300 each, then came across these for £65 for a pair of new ones, so decided to give them a try, fitted them to the rear and immense grip was amazing, full throttle in first without a thought of wheelspin, since i didnt want to get loads of understeer around corners i got another set for the front.

Hi man, keen to hear what tyres at £32.50 each offer this sensational level of grip. Cheers.

The guy has zero credibility, check his history. At best, if you exclusively believe him above everyone else, he has made all sorts of very terrible life choices combined with some very bad luck, at worst he is a known scammer, liar and all round horrible person (according to everyone else who has commented)

I'll let you decide which is more likely.

Eh? How so cheap? Aren't they some sort of Dunlop semi-slicks? (sure I saw Dunlop on the first pic you posted of em).

Anyway, now you know what the shadowline trim is (the black trim round the windows/B-pillar). Yours is glossy and mine is matt black. If you're M5 is becomming a track ****, how do you fancy doing a swap as I'd quite like the high gloss shadowline? Some cash your way too of course. This is providing they are good and not bubbling/peeling lacquer etc.

Same proposal for your extended leather centre console trim. You dont understand how much I want it. Plus yours is the wrong colour giving me a great excuse to consider redying all my leather :).

Then again you've fitted facelift bits and asked about nav/audio - are you keeping it straight?

I think the RX7 thread confirms this.

You really don't - it tarnishes very easily and gets quite tatty without too much effort, sadly. I had it on the 335i and it was a pain. The Matt, by contrast, is easy to keep looking nice and suprisingly cheap to get hold of brand new replacement bits for if you want to replace bits.

You definately want this though :D

Who knows what he's doing? It's all as bizarre as the RX7 thing was. Apparently he doesnt want to spend any money because its 'an old saloon' (He constantly reminds of this) yet if you look at his posts he's planning to do all sorts of random stuff including turbocharging it!?

Doesn't mean I dont want it :). Know what you mean though - I hear it tarnishes easy, and I just replaced a B-pillar part on mine for only £15 brand new in the standard matt (which leaves me with the old one to rub down, paint and lacquer as a DIY high-gloss shadowline experiment).

E39 trim porn

Uuhhhrrrrrr... drool... twitch... Stop it! Oh go on - give me one of the handbrake receptacle area - all those stiches:eek:. I'm a bit concerned, though, that if I take that first step I'll be consumed thereafter by an OCD desire to slowly convert the whole thing to complete leather :).

Indeed. Well I dont really care, but if I can opportunely re-home some rarer E39 bits before they get crushed/catch fire/become evidence in a court case or whatever, it's all good :)

Have you not considered buying an M5 complete interior just for the door cards? I'm sure someone would happily have the seats alone back off you and the leather centre console too if included in the M5 bits. A bit of hassle but could end up not costing much at all to get your black extended leather door cards.

Thanks for the link. Extremely tempting. Shame it has a phone in the arm rest, but then I guess most probably did. I could probably shift it on though and retrofit the later tray. Hmmmmmm...

I don't think any of them didn't have a phone. I didnt get an armrest with mine, I re-used my existing one.

Trouble with buying an M5 interior just for the door cards is that its so bulky and annoying its an enormous pain to ship to people..

Join the queue, next set of doorcards are MINE!! :p

I'd fit the M5 interior but whilst the drivers seat isn't brand new (But still fairly awesome) the passenger seat and rear seats are so good I just know I wont find another like it so I can't :(

Buy an M5, and retrofit your seats to it... :D

the land of fantasy no doubt.

Suspected that may be the case.
