BMW and M Power Owners

With DSC on, the car modulates the throttle to kill 99.9% of any wheel spin. This is the standard mode.

With DTC on (push button briefly), the car will allow most forward wheel spin, but if it detects side to side movement, it will cut power.

With DSC completely off (hold button for 4 seconds) it will allow any wheel spin.

Quick and nasty copy and paste, but that's how it should work from memory.

DTC and DSC are on by default (no lights on dash = all systems on)

Brief push of DSC button deactivates DTC which will then allow wheel spin.

Long press of DSC button sees two lights on dashboard illuminate and this means DTC and DSC is deactivated. With the DSC now deactivated, this allows understeer and oversteer type situations to occur, in addition to the DTC deactivated as outlined above.

I would presume DSC incorporates traction control (preventing wheelspin when accelerating) alongside its stability control programme, therefore I would presume 'DTC activated' just means that the stability control system is deactivated leaving just traction control.

I could be wrong but that's what would make sense to me.

Struggling to find a decent 325i estate for under £3,000.

A few 318i's... Might have to look into veering away from BMW in this case :(

So I agreed a price for a 335i se coupe @ £11,5 yesterday.

Substantial spec with a full history and lovely running condition.

Having not driven a 335i before i was a little unprepared for the sheer brutal acceleration on tap. A fabulous vehicle indeed, superior to an e60 535d i driove a few years back.

I will get a warranty as sub 60k and thoroughly enjoy my new car. Only issue, as untaxed I need to tax from 01/10/14 as im not paying a months tax for a few days!
Will post pics once ive taken receipt for mixed 'motors' reactions!

lol, my pick up would be 27th - Next Saturday, as im just too busy to get it before! The wait however is already getting to me!

So it is a few days really ;)

Was due to go and collect a new steering wheel from Jack at royal steering wheels today, but got an email late last night apologizing and saying he had messed up and doesn't actually have one for me :( hopefully wont be too long before he has another.

So the 335i went into BMW for a service/mot and two new turbos + reprogramming at the beginning of last week. First time I drove it after picking it up, the entire Idrive system isn't working at all.
Screen completely blank, no parking sensors, radio/cd/dvd etc. You can hear the fan at the back of the unit spinning still when the car is unlocked (and supplying it power) but no response from it at all.

Tried the "reset" procedure that BMW recommend (holding eject buttons and radio power button, but nothing.

Guessing full new CCC unit?

Oh buddy that sounds like a pain in the ass, bet you were a tad annoyed after putting it off for so long and then finally taking the plunge?!
