BMW and M Power Owners

Since you're in High Wycombe, give the sales manager (Tony Lewis) at Berry Heathrow a call because he does very, very good deals on these cars. If you want to have a look at a M135i that has all of the gadgets that I've mentioned, let me know. I'd be happy to take a quick drive up the M40 :)

EDIT: Your trust says High Wycombe, but your profile says Reading. I'm not sure which is true :)

Updated my details ha, now in Aylesbury! Just bought my first house here :-)

Many thanks for the reply, very helpful. I sat in the m235i yesterday and it felt very familiar, actually identical to my F30 320d M Sport. Not a bad thing and certainly not what I'm thinking about when going for this sort of car anyway.

I'm glad you mentioned the adaptive suspension, I have this in my current BMW and am really glad I picked it. I am pleased to know its useful in the 235i as well.

Thanks for the offer to meet up, I will keep it in mind. If I do go ahead with the car maybe we can meet up and grab a beer :D (Y)

Ok so having one ;)

auto every single day of the week, the box is the 8 speed ZF and its seamless in day to day use but in sport or manual its brutally efficient, the acceleration is monstrous as I demonstrated to my boss off the M6 toll booths the other day ;)

Driver Comfort pack, Adaptive Suspension, reversing camera, Pro Nav, HK Speakers and heated front seats would be my bare minimum for what I'd want. Mine has also the visibility pack (brilliant), through load system, sun protection pack, electric memory seats, folding mirror pack, and the brushed aluminium/black accent strips.

Sitting at 70-75 I can average over 40 mpg, the car is averaging around 30 over all types of driving. I run it on Super Unleaded only.

There is a bit of road noise but that is more down to the tyres than anything else, generally its a quiet and comfy place to be, with the stereo on you hear no road or wind noise.

Things I'd change...well to not have a Friday afternoon car and a dealer who's general level of competence has been somewhat questionable...

Thanks for the reply Jinxy, you guys are making me think stick/go with the Auto :-)

I will ask to test drive both and ultimately make a decision.

I'm currently dealing with Specialist Cars in Tring, so far so good...! Going to use Broadspeed as well to make sure I get the best possible price. If anyone has any further advice, always appreciated.

Any changes to the E64 650i during its production? All i know is there was a facelift and idrive update at some point.

Just want to know if there is anything worth going for after 2006+ other wise a 645 or 650 pre 06 for the cheaper tax is for me, was fortunate to drive a 645 coupe auto over the weekend and now i'm definately in love with them, still has to be a manual though :D

Doesn't change the point, it's not a custom trimmed Ferrari is it. It's an everyday car, it amazes me that people consider these lead times acceptable.

But if you want a new car what's the alternative?

I know there's a fair few E46 owners on the forums, just a quick bit of info, I've just got off the phone to BMW UK regarding the latest batch of airbag recalls, apparently they had no address on their system for my car, but it is affected and so is my mates 2003 M3. Might be worth giving them a call with your reg and last 7 from the VIN for them to check.

I'm booked in with Sytner Birmingham on the 4th October for a replacement airbag to be fitted.

I'd guess there's a lot of owners about who haven't received any letters so it may be worth giving them a call. The recall seems to affect 2003 and 2003 models.

Get over the new car thing and buy one of the many 2k mile ones from a dealer. Probably end up with better spec too. Doesn't work if it's a company car obviously.

Its only an issue if you dont plan things, if your doing to do 10-12 weeks without a car then its obviously daft waiting, if you plan it then whats the problem?

You shouldn't need to plan something that far out surely?

'I will need a new car in 5 months, better buy one now'

For special and custom orders fair enough - you want something unique then you must be prepared to wait for it. But for the regular models with custom orders it's only because we've just shrugged and accepted it that they don't hold sufficient stock to deliver them in a timely fashion. In other markets, most common combos are available from stock.

Depends, if your leasing for example you know when your lease will end, you can plan when to order the replacement.

Only because you have to - what if something else comes out? What if you change your tastes? Committing that far before it turns up is just annoying - sure, you can make it work but the point is for a 2 litre hatchback with sat nav you probably shouldn't need to.

Bad news on the E46 touring front, stuck it up on ramps to find it's basically ****ed and not worth bothering with

Diff is leaking badly and groaning, looks to have had a knock at the back end at some point, got a sump gasket leak, vanos is making a racket, the oil seperator pipes I can see are knackered, surprisingly no rust but bumpers are sagging and it's had paint at the back, interior ok but it's an SE so nasty trim. Basically I can't be bothered with it even at the price so I think it'll be heading off to auction

Nice one.

Had mine replaced on Saturday along with an oil service. Whole thing took under two hours.

After much deliberation, I have cancelled my one series order and now I have a ten day wait for a 320D M sport 2012 in estiril blue. Makes sense as I will be doing in excess of 500 miles a week. Can't wait, excited to say the least, in time for my 20th.
