BMW and M Power Owners

After much deliberation, I have cancelled my one series order and now I have a ten day wait for a 320D M sport 2012 in estiril blue. Makes sense as I will be doing in excess of 500 miles a week. Can't wait, excited to say the least, in time for my 20th.

Enjoy mate :-) its a great everyday car for that sort of mileage.

Thanks mate, bit worried about the sports suspension as I was told to originally delete Sports suspension, will the ride be rigid on this?

I came from an Audi S-Line car to my 320d f30 M Sport and the sport suspension in the Beamer I found no where near as hard/rigid as the Audi. Personally feels very nice to me but everyone is different.

Does the car your getting have adaptive suspension?

Yea I think the guy mentioned M sport adaptive sports suspension, ah excited now! High specced from what he was telling me. Will get a proper delivery date tomorrow. What colour is yours?

Estoril Blue is without question the best possible colour for an F30 - nice choice. It seems a bit weird that you've bought a 2 year old used car without really knowing the spec though? Surely you must have seen the spec when you viewed or looked at the details of the car before purchase?

Mine is Estoril Blue as well :-) really wonderful colour and always gets compliments.

Adaptive suspension is a great option, when you change profile (Eco pro, comfort, sport, sport+) you can feel the ride of the car change as well.

Currently looking at something else as its 2 years in to the 3 years PCP I have it on. Really undecided currently, have a test drive in a M235i being set up and also waiting for my Audi dealer to get the new TT in to test. Basically want something a lot quicker as I'm not doing so many miles these days!

It's through work a scheme they have, and these cars are returned by previous employees and get snapped up literally within minutes of the list being updated. It matched my needs, 2litre diesel with good MPG. Was rushed I'll admit but very happy.

Will I notice a big power difference in this from my current 1,6 Astra?

Yes you will notice a huge difference.

Got the 335i serviced at BMW today; she was due a vehicle check and then an oil and microfilter service next month, so got them both done at the same time.

Also agreed for them to do an "emissions control service" which is a fuel additive they stick in the tank to help clean the injectors. Was considering doing this myself anyway just as preventative maintenance and it was only £15 so thought why not.

The only things noted by the mechanic were the front discs and pads which need replacing (which I knew anyway) and apparently the near side rear tyre is down to 2mm across the full width, which after looking myself is a load of rubbish as there is plenty of tread left.

The courtesy car they gave me, a 14 plate 316i auto, actually quite surprised me. It's a 1.6 turbocharged 4-pot with quite a bit of usable power. Handling was not bad and although the interior is a nice place to be (oddly specced with a HUD) it is clear there is a lot of cost-cutting going on in BMW land as things like the door skins felt incredibly cheap!

Phoned several "specialist BMW" garages and an official dealer about getting the valve clearances checked on the M3 and adjusted if required and no one bothers to call you back. Is it really such a hard job they turn it down.

It doesnt look too hard to me, may be doing my own soon, you can buy a shim kit for around £50.

AUC warranty for the win.

X5 (2008 - 80,000 mls) brakes were feeling a bit juddery and I noticed some heat damage on discs. Took it in to get a service and get them to look at the brakes. Later that day I pick my car up with two new front discs, new front pads and a new caliper, all under warranty.

3 days later, the rear suspension decides to drop, airbag has gone. Go to dealership, collect courtesy X5, 3 days later get car back with new airbags in the rear suspension, again under warranty.

Pretty chuffed with that on a 6 year old car that's 15 months into a 2 year AUC warranty.

It's sitting a bit high on the offside. It's probably something as simple as the rubber stopper needs adjusting on that side, although I'd take a good look for signs of crash damage just in case.

Excuse my lack of knowledge, would that be a simple non-costly fix if that's the case?

It also looks like a decent size dent on the driver side door? Again, costly?

Yup it's a 2 minute job and no tools are needed. Open the bonnet, rotate the rubber clockwise so shortens, close bonnet to check and then adjust again if it's not quite right.

I am getting more and more annoyed with BMW's website. It has been pants for as long as I can remember being cumbersome, badly laid out liable to hissy fits and it astonishes me that they haven't sorted it out yet as I know many friends who hold the same view. ******* me off.

Having the same frustrations matey. Was looking to price up an F30 yesterday and the configurator just kept getting stuck with a spinning icon in the centre of the screen, so I gave up!
