BMW and M Power Owners

Hi All,

I'm looking for a replacement car, and like the idea of a e46 330 touring (diesel or petrol, manual or auto). Want to buy on condition and history rather than mileage. Probably looking to spend about 3-3.5, but happy to spend less if I don't need to spend that much.

I like the look of the sport models, and leather would be nice. I'm not too fussed about whether it has nav or not, and xenons... well if it has them great, and if not again I'm not to worried.

I'm aware that 2004 on vehicles have a longer corrosion warranty, but it looks like the slightly newer cars carry quite a price premium.

I've had a look on Autotrader and Pistonheads, but if anyone can recommend any cars or places to look, please let me know

62mpg real world?
Yes, If I drive carefully then 60mpg+ Journey average is vey achievable.
My average over 30k miles is 44mpg.

Car purchased, collect on Saturday.

2002 E46 330i Sport Touring Auto. 129k miles, 2 owners, first from 2002 to 2005, second from then till now. Most recent owner put 100k on the car, and I have a huge folder of receipts.

I'm not sure what the options are as I don't know what was standard, but it has xenons, electric seats with memory, a biscuit coloured leather, split opening tail gate and climate.

Really happy with it, and looking forward to collection.

Any pics? I still keep half an eye out for decent tourings but they are rarer than rare.

Xenons are an option - can't remember if memory seats were standard on sports

I'm loving the webasto heater. Wake up and just press the on button and go back to sleep. Then get out of bed, eventually get to a warm car :D
What does it actually do? I thought it was just an engine warmer. I've seen them on a lot of cars for sale in Germany.

I've got some and I'll upload them over the weekend.

The car certainly isn't mint cosmetically, however from what I could tell mechanically it was good - huge folder full of receipts, previous owner had it for 9 years and 100k miles, telling signs like 4 brand new Pirelli Zero Nero Rossi tyres, it's been looked after.

It drove beautifully, but I'll be doing my usual thing when I buy a new car regardless of that (all new fluids, oils and filters) so I know it's in a happy place for me to start dropping miles on it. I think the brakes were probably near the end - slight lip on the discs, pads from what I could see were low on material - so I'll drop on all new discs and pads just so it's all happy.

Looking forward to my drive up to Leeds on Tuesday to put it through its paces.

Do all 58 plate m3's have the HDD iDrive or are some still on the discs? I understand all the 08's are the older version?

All E90, E91, E92 and E93 cars built after September 2008 have the newer and enormously superior CIC iDrive with HDD. But note its built, not registered, after September 2008. This was in the middle of the downturn so there were quite a lot of unsold ones around - many 58 plate and even quite a lot of 09 plate cars were built before Sep 08 and therefore do not have the better iDrive.

Thanks for the helpful info, My budget puts me at 58-09 plates so I'll keep a good eye out.

If its listed as having DAB and has the full silver knob like this I can assume it has the updated iDrive?

Thanks again! :)

Edit: Oh maybe not, That's a 08 plate, I'm confused :D
