You will be driving a 2.0 TDI next.
Not going to buy don't worry, but thoughts on the following, you mention going back to looking at e46 also, which are obviously older.
Still don't see much difference in actual car cost from an e46 petrol and diesel, OK diesel may be about 5-6k for a upper spec model with 60-80k on, but for a decent petrol with lower miles 40-50k your looking at 5 grand, not a massive saving

£5k for a 40-50k example also sounds like quite a large saving over a £6k 60-80k diesel anyway, though?
What sort of milage do the BMW petrol engines do before you start getting issues or before you start thinking about changing? Or before it starts to depreciate In value quickly? Usually I have a rule of 150k in diesels
If I bought something with 45-50k on it and wanted to pay for the warranty monthly to avoid the price doubling when going over 60k, Would I have to make sure it didn't go over 60k before the 12 months inc. warranty are up?
Regarding the Warranty, If you buy BMW Approved used I see you get a full 12 months warranty..

That looks nice, but what about the other displays/dashboard illumination? Can't help but feel it might look out of place when everything else is illuminated orange... Happy to be proven wrong by way of an interior photo though!
