BMW and M Power Owners

Not going to buy don't worry, but thoughts on the following, you mention going back to looking at e46 also, which are obviously older.

Still don't see much difference in actual car cost from an e46 petrol and diesel, OK diesel may be about 5-6k for a upper spec model with 60-80k on, but for a decent petrol with lower miles 40-50k your looking at 5 grand, not a massive saving

Oops forgot the links. 2 secs

The only thing that lets some of the e46 down is the bland interior sometimes

Going to take me a while before I get a sensible feel on what I'm doing

Errr the petrol is a much better car though - you get a 231bhp 3 litre Six not a 150bhp 2 litre diesel! It was thousands of pounds more expensive new, now its yours for the same price as the noisy slow diesel. What isn't to like about that?

£5k for a 40-50k example also sounds like quite a large saving over a £6k 60-80k diesel anyway, though?

£6k for a 9 year old e46 320d saloon!!?? You'd have to be mad.

It looks absolutely buggered inside too

The convertible I can almost understand, but if you absolutely, really, truly must have a diesel then it can only be the 6 (it should be a petrol 6)

What sort of milage do the BMW petrol engines do before you start getting issues or before you start thinking about changing? Or before it starts to depreciate In value quickly? Usually I have a rule of 150k in diesels

My 530i has 208k miles on it. Generally the issues are because they are getting old, regardless of mileage, really.

Depreciation, lol. You are looking at 5 grand cars. They've depreciated. They are worth 15% of what they cost new.

Regarding the Warranty, If you buy BMW Approved used I see you get a full 12 months warranty..

If I bought something with 45-50k on it and wanted to pay for the warranty monthly to avoid the price doubling when going over 60k, Would I have to make sure it didn't go over 60k before the 12 months inc. warranty are up?

Cheers

Hi.

I'm looking for some replacement rims for my e92 (rears cracked).

I thought they where 189 style but now I've seen 287 style.

I can't see a difference. Are they the same?

Also. Silver car with feric gray wheels?

Ie 189 feric gray wheels

Any other styles recommended?

Or just don't take your car to any Bmw dealers or do a MOT after your car hits 60k until you put a warranty on it.

Fitted a new stereo to my e46 today. A Pioneer X8500DAB - http://www.pioneer.eu/uk/products/25/121/61/DEH-X8500DAB/specs.html

DAB+, Parrot Bluetooth, and then I've made use of one of the rear USB sockets to charge my TomTom5000.

All the wires are nicely hidden, and it works brilliantly. Granted, it isn't as 'smooth' a look as a Dynavin, but it was a £2500 car, so I'd be mad to drop the best part of £600 on a head unit.

I put this is the "What have you done to your car today" thread but thought you BMW guys might appreciate it more here.

I popped up to Crawley after a weekend in Brighton as a guy on e90post converts the orange E9x speedo cluster to white. It takes just 20 minutes to do and costs £40 for the dials and centre displays; IMO it freshens the dash up and makes it feel much more modern; even the gf says it looks 10x better and she doesn't normally notice these things :)

That looks nice, but what about the other displays/dashboard illumination? Can't help but feel it might look out of place when everything else is illuminated orange... Happy to be proven wrong by way of an interior photo though!

I had the same concerns but it doesn't look out of place at all. Will try and grab a pic tonight matey.

No doubt much to the disgust of various members of this forum or at least based on the comments earlier in this thread, the final order for my new 335D has been placed. I've ended up with the following spec

335D X-Drive Saloon
Mineral Grey
Black Leather
Black interior trim
Brushed Aluminium
M Sport+ Pack
Visibility Pack
Interior Comfort Pack
Pro Media Pack
Adaptive M-Sports Suspension
Variable Sports Steering
Heated Seats
Folding Mirrors
Heads Up Display
Speed Limit Display
Active Cruise
Reversing Camera
De-badged

Currently looking at Week 8 2015 delivery, so would be wait a week and get it as a 1st March car. I am more than happy with the what has been agreed, I'm paying significantly less than list and have other discounts and incentives applied to the deal so overall the price to me is very good. The dealer is also arranging for a loan car until my car is delivered to them which should be sorted next week.
