BMW and M Power Owners

On the SE, get the Dynamic Pack. It adds 19 inch wheels, Sport Seats, Sports steering wheel, anthracite headlining and high gloss shadowline - it's only missing the wheels, suspension and bodykit of the M Sport. It was popular in 2010 as it was the most 'sporty' option you could buy when the F10 first came out as the M Sport didn't follow until later.

It's a useful compromise as a decent spec 530d M Sport with sensible miles is the wrong side of £25k usually which for a 4 year old diesel 5 Series is just utterly barking mad. The price of these cars continues to amaze me.

You almost certainly won't find a 530i as almost none of them were sold. It was a curiously strange re-addition into the range in 2011 alongisde the new 2 litre 4 pot 528i which was more economical and faster.

Thanks for the tips! Looks like I'll be hunting for a 530d SE then :) Gotta say, there isn't as much out there as I thought there might be!

I can attest to this, and so can the people in my rear view mirror

I'll point comparison to the N42 4pot in my dedicated M3 thread because I have some valid points to make about it and its merits.

Dear God, when you buy anything you really become a fanboy. Do we really need a dedicated M3 thread just because you now own one?

Nope, there are billions of base spec 520d's out there but as soon as you limit it to 530d or better, Xenons and nav suddenly the numbers dwindle. Took me ages to find mine.

I've kept an eye out since I got mine as I wouldn't mind trading into a 535i if one ever came up - I bought it because I got sick of waiting. Since then, 9 months ago, exactly zero 535i which would have been suitable came up.

It's a new car thread, in the motors forum... And a few have already said they're waiting for it. Whether you like it or not doesn't bother me the slightest  - You may think everything is a material item that doesn't warrant talking about in any detail but some of us actually fully enjoy new stuff and people appreciate sharing that experience in the relevant community. I suggest you stop with your dullness.

Heaven forbid someone posts about getting the car they've spent years waiting for, in a car forum. There are even good threads where people update us on the ongoing ownership of their cars a year+ down the line, so when can we expect your next dime of a post stating "do we really need that?" :D

I am looking forward to mrk's thread on the m3, it is I car that a lot of people like and he seems passionate about it and wants to share with us his experience. :)

Set of 16 wheel nuts ordered from Cotswold, also ordered a Silverline torque wrench off Amazon, that was £15 but came with a few hundred 4/5 star reviews and one guy did a comparison with a calibrator to see the actual values, seemed to be a right bargain of a tool.

Dammit you owe me £15 now :p

Ok so that's clarified, a new car thread, not a dedicated thread to the BMW M3, which is what I thought you implied. For the record I enjoy your posts and contribution to the forum. My posts are very dull compared to yours because I don't have as much time to post or take decent photos :)

I love the blue one but it is a bit of a distance to go test drive! I would prefer leather but that is cheap enough to forgive it that, like the colour too.

I have been looking at the £5k one but don't like the grey interior at all :(

The £4k grey one is nice, I guess I'm following the <100k miles is too much thought process which is wrong. 1 owner FBMWSH is better obviously.

If the blue one was up here I'd go swap right now I think :o

The blue car could be an absolute shed, but it is priced appropriately so if it was sound in terms.of bodywork and needed minor mechanicals done it would potentially be worth it. Leather will put many (inc me probably) off though.

Bit daft trying to buy a ten year old car with less than 100k - number of owners and documented history (over and above just a stamped book) means far more to me.
