BMW and M Power Owners

Mostly because of plain personal preference. I NEVER liked how they drove. But then again, mostly my experience of Bridgestones has been through RFT's, and I don't like their take on them. The Goodyear RFT's I have on the 5 series, and Continental winter RFT's I have on their also, on the other hand, I am quite happy with them, and see no reason to change until they are out of tread.

I did once have non-RFT Bridgestones on a motor though, and didn't rate them personally. But then I am a funny crater anyway, as I also REALLY dislike Pirelli, and wouldn't buy (on purpose at least) Continental summer tyres either (that being said, I have twice bought / ran continental winter tyres, and liked them loads). All dislikes based on actual personal experience though.

Long term MPG is sitting pretty much where I expected it to.

Well...replaced the front pads and discs, got two new tyres on the rear. Dusted and polished inside, washed, waxed it. Noticed paint bubbling on the front passenger side alloy

Does anybody use a reputable specialist in the Midlands that they would recommend? My indy has shut shop :( Cheers

There's one in Solihull that comes highly recommended - I've not needed to use them personally, but a couple of mates have used them and couldn't fault them.

They're based in Monkspath/Shirley, and not too far from BMW Sytner :)

There's also RSJ in Moseley but I wouldn't touch those guys with a barge pole.

Edit: Nevermind, just spotted that iAuto has become Motorserv, though don't know if it's the same people or same attention to detail. There's a BMW specialist up in Knowle - NCB Autocraft, I'll try and dig out his details.

Thanks Atari, iAuto were my local in Coventry but apparently they've shut all locations now except for Croydon - they were really good, great with both new and old cars, no extra costs, always spot on jobs etc.

haha a specialist in moseley.... hmmm... I think I'll pass ;)

Thanks, I'll research NCB :) Cheers Atari

Apparently the iAuto in Solihull is run and staffed by the same team from what little info I could get from the web, they've just changed their name.

Noel @ NCB Autokraft - the number I have for him is 01564703434.
Alternatively, I'd recommend DynoTorque - whilst not a specialist per se, they are incredibly knowledgable and have built some fantastic cars. I've needed to use them twice and couldn't fault them one bit. I believe Phil Morrison with the V10 E46 M3 is based here, or the car was built here. They're probably better for more general jobs.

Yeah, I'd avoid Moseley too - they're really well known in BMW circles, but I've never had a good experience from them.

Might have a slight problem with the Z4m. I already have it booked in for Monday for them to take a look and do a general health check (paranoid about a few noises most likely), as I am taking it to Ireland for the Easter bank holiday and I really don't want it going wrong while I am over there.

Every now and then when I start the car, it cranks the same number of times but instead of revving to its idle revs straight away it sort of hiccups for a spilt second then reaches its normal revs. Have not noticed anything wrong after its started though.

Anyone got any ideas ?

Wheel bearing replaced, car is now perfect once again :) Lesson well and truly learnt!

I bet :p

I've managed to put a 1" scrape on my alloy. Low curb... Guess what's booked in for a refurb next week? Even though it's not the OEM diamond cut shadow chrome finish, the american chrome one is made up of 3 stages and as such, costs £100 a wheel at a good rate and takes 2 days to do :/

I'll be leaving a mile distance from curbs from now on.

There's a 57 plate blue 335i on Autotrader on 60k miles for £12,489... it doesn't appear to have iDrive :confused::confused:

iDrive wasn't standard on the E92 335i, although that does seem an extremely strong price for an early one on moderate miles without it.

I bet :p

Watch out for curbs, they cost you money :p
