BMW and M Power Owners

You're missing my point a bit I think - I agree it's a nothing issue IF that's what the actual problem is. If it's only the switch, why on earth hasn't the seller just changed it for moving the car on? Questionable imo

I can see your point completely in that if it were my car, I would have replaced it before selling it too as I wouldn't have wanted anyone to think there were any more serious problems at play. As pepsilol said though it's staggering how many people don't bother replacing them as they cant be arsed.

I've gotta be honest, I only put a bid on it as it was relatively cheap as I keep seeing facelift coupes go for £4k plus most of the time. I know that's for good reason owing to service history and less mileage but thought on the whole this one sounded like it wouldn't take much to be a good summer car.

It's hardly a long and arduous task so long as you have decent tools.

Some people can't be bothered with the hassle and would rather take the hit, some people know fine well that the issue isn't as simple as it seems, so would rather let someone else figure it out.

Assuming that's what the issue is it'll be fine, I'd say it's priced fairly appropriately tbh as that example would never command £4k+ (not trying to be damming of the car, i'm sure it'll be fine but better than 'fine' comes at a premium)

I'd much rather have honesty from more experienced owners even if it was damning, it's one of the best aspects of Motors tbh!

In an ideal world I'd have liked a comprehensive service history, red leather and xenons but I haven't seen a car with all the boxes ticked for a long time sadly :(

What is there to look for?
The car's almost new and it's BMW Approved Used.

I'd personally look for one that doesn't have drug dealer tints, grill and wheels. And ideally a 328i ;)

Decent spec, mind.

Thanks, I'm not a fan of the bodykit and wanted a standard silver one really. This was the cheapest per spec I could find, and wondered due to it's appearance I could get some money knocked off?

Heard the 320 and 328 are identical down to the partlist, just uses a different ecu mapping

I dunno, is that cheap? My 2009 550i cost $31K NZD (about 15K GBP) and had 47K miles on the clock and was only missing about 3 options on the spec list. Admittedly I would prefer that 2010 model and it has more power than mine by about 40HP, but I'm not sure... Although saying that, 2010 535i's with 40K miles sell for around $35K NZD here so perhaps its not?

As good a place as any to ask, it's just a bit of a whim thing, I've seen this motor at a garage near to mine and it looks a nice car. Low owners, good miles, really tidy, nice colour combo (to me) and I personally like the wheels lol... I am doing approx 17 to 18k at the moment and doing that at 22mpg aint gonna be much fun and truth be told I'm not that into my Focus, it's quick but that's about it.

What should this motor really be worth... this dealer is renowned for selling good quality german stuff but that price looks nigh on 2k too much to me. But I'm not that up to speed on pricing of them at this milage/condition etc.

Thanks all.
