BMW and M Power Owners

Yep. The lip on rims on run flats is different to the lip on normal rims. I don't know whether this has adverse effects or not but that's the tune I got whencI asked about it too.

Oh sweet, thanks for pointing that out. I'm on the verge of getting a new set and have been sitting on the fence about run flats for ages now. Might just bight the bullet and go for regulars with a can of foam in the boot.

my 318i e90 is flashing up for a service. 65000 miles

usually just do them myself but this is my 1st bmw and condition based servicing is new to me.

oil fuel and cabin filter change good enough?

can confirm. MINI came with runcraps, fitted regular tyres no problem. The rim situation is like petrol/diesel nozzles as i understand it, you can put regular tyres on a runcrap rim but not vice versa.

I asked about putting normal tyres on, the guy didn't recommend it. He said something about the rim lip not fitting?

You'll be surprised just how little tyre fitters know about tyres. They know how to put them on an alloy and take it off, sometimes they can even balance them first time and not damage your alloy too!!

One of the small issues I overlooked when recently getting my E91 was a little bubble on the climate control panel:

Does anyone know if this is an easy thing to sort out? It doesn't really bother me, but it'd be good to know if this is a quick/cheap fix or something a bit more major.

Remove the trim and respray it?

It's bubbled because someone had a vent air freshener which leaked.

The above and the fact that without pressure sensors it's much harder to tell a deflated runflat with the crazy stiff sidewall, till the car goes sliding around
