BMW and M Power Owners

The cradle thing is crap, it takes BMW eleventybillion years to bring out updated cradles and they cost a million pounds when they do.

What will really happen is that your phone will stay in your pocket and you'll just have all 5 Taylor Swift albums on a USB stick in the glovebox.

I mean more like a phone holder on the dash and then USB lead into the car.

lol, i can just picture your face going red with 1 cable leading up from the console :p

You are right though, a tiny 64G USB with lots of Taylor Swift is probably what I'd do :p Saves me plugging in the phone every time i get into the car!

Indeed, gotta love a bit of diesel. I've gone form owning a Golf 1.8T which on a good day would give me 32mpg to the 320d which will do almost 50mpg at a steady 80mph.

I can't justify it either. Sadly it seems everyone who bought a high spec 5 Series new could justify it so if you want a reasonably quick 5 Series with the right spec you've got to buy a diesel.

Annoying.

Mine was an ex company car, so no surprises on how it was kitted out. 320d with full BMW service history. The owner did upgrade the alloys to 18's though and get a parrot bluetooth fitted. I was also surprised that they got M sport spec considering it was ex company!

I was quite specific on wanting a 320d M sport Touring, and there were only 6 in the entire country on Auto Trader that met my requirements.

How did only 6 in the country meet your requirements? It appears to be a completely base spec car save for leather? No navigation, Xenons, etc? Surely it would be simplicity itself to find one in that specification  What was it that made it so hard to find?

There are quite a few petrol E91's as well so putting up with that engine for 4k a year seems mad!

It's hardly putting up, the mpg is amazing and the torque on the thing is unreal! Don't know but when I looked for 320d Touring, up to 6 years old, approx. 100k on the clock or less, manual, M Sport for under £8k there were only 6. Pure luck this one was quite local! The previous owner spent £8.3k servicing it, you can't turn your nose up at that :)

Will be getting it re-mapped and EGR deleted, be good for 210bhp then too!

£8.3k Servicing or fixing. Kind of probes the point diesels aren't needed for low miles - certainly not 4k miles !

A 535i also have torque

Servicing, no expense spared on the thing. He got it serviced twice a year without fail, even paid £100 a year to switch from summer to winter wheels, talk about posh lol. £30 for a bulb change, I think he has more money that sense. So bought it safe in the knowledge it's been incredibly well looked after. It's a pleasant change after driving a 15 year old Golf that had 13 advisories on the MOT!

320d is also the sweet spot for insurance, anything higher was getting stupid expensive.

No, the torque on that thing really isn't that unreal :p For 4k a year something like a 325i would have been wonderful, and far more refined. The LCI 320d is also fitted with a DPF which you are surely asking for problems with doing such low mileage?

No wonder, thats an insanely low budget for an LCI 320d M Sport. I'm actually amazed you managed to find one, why was it so cheap?

And you relish the opportunity of carrying on?!

Cheap because it had £100k on the clock, which is nothing for a diesel really.

Each to their own, but it's a really awesome car, bit of luxury :)

I know it is, it's going to get removed once I hit 125k.

There has to be another reason, even with 100k miles a 2009 320d M Sport Touring has a retail value of just under £10k, not under £8k?

Which will fail the MOT?

Clearly not, as I managed to get it for £8k. It's actually valued at £12k. I just know how to get a good deal out of someone.

And no it won't fail an MOT, as DPF is a visual inspection and the garage guts the insides of the DPF out so visually it looks untouched.

I moderate a rather large BMW E90 group, there isn't much I'm not clued up on, or can't find out lol
