BMW and M Power Owners

My brake discs are pitted on my e46 330ci so it looks like it's new disc+pad time all around.
Any particular brands that stand out?

I've seen Pagid for around £90 front / £80 rear for a pair of discs and the pads are £30/£30 for both fronts and rears.

Are they OK? Textar seems cheaper - but I'm looking for good value for money and OE quality - I'm open to suggestions. There seems to be Brembo Max front discs for around £100 on the bay - are they any good?

VANOS big deal, almost all engines have VVT on one or both cams nowadays. Anyway, aesthetically the VANOS doesn't look ugly :p
Come to think of it, there were basic models like the 316 with the valvetronic system which is much more complex.

Comples or simpe isn't an issue. It's when complexity causes problems that it is an issue. VANOS has issues, Rover VVC didn't, nor does Honda i-VTEC. The BMW straight 6 also needed a special oil after the engine was developed...

It's was hardly a simple engine

Still simple and back to basics compared to forced induction motor. This is out of hand anyway, I was talking mainly from an aesthetics POV. That F30 is a mess of pipes, charge coolers and a bunch of ugly stuff that wouldn't be there were is a, dare I say it, proper NASP M engine ;)

Looking for some new rears on the 5 275 35 18 currently has 452s all round , with around 5mm on the fronts , should I stick to these on the back again or go for something different , they have been fine and not had any brown trouser moments, I know they are a marmite tyre on forums but real world performance they seem upto the job but if theres a better tyre for not much more outlay I'm up for that.

Of course. No frills motor with a set of ITBs on one side and nice tubular headers on the other. No rats nest of hoses. I don't need to post pics, do I?

So back in the 80s in the E30 M3 then as since then the M3s haven't been ITBs? They have been VANOS 6pots from the E36 onwards not 4pot ITB engines. Unsure about the rest of the M range though.

I don't know what you are confusing ITB with but he means Individual Throttle Bodies, which all M cars have had up infill these latest generations.
