BMW and M Power Owners

Nope I'm pretty sure you can't, you can spec a leather instrument panel but it's not the same as the full leather option on the M cars. Full leather isn't an option for the non-m versions (well possibly through bmw individual but you'd be paying a massive premium)

Officially full leather adds:
- Upper door panels in Walknappa Leather (Black).
- Instrument panel/dashboard in Walknappa Leather (Black).
- Lower dashboard (centre console/glovebox etc) in Merino and Walknappa Leather (Upholstery colour/Black).
- Sun visors textured/anthracite.
- Rear parcel shelf in anthracite.

Possibly changed then (I don't see any option on the configurator/brochure), regardless my point stands that the interior is massively improved with the full leather option. The fact it shares the same interior layout as the F30 series is no different to any previous M or any other marquee with a performance variant (C63, Audi RS5).

Weird thing happened on my Z4, Pulling off my drive, barely moving next thing i know *Smash* The mirror fell out of the wing mirror, leaving what now looks like a blanking plate behind, looks like the Mirror is held on by adhesive or something.

Not sure if all BMW's are the same but has your mirror randomly fell out and how much is this likely to cost me? I'm reading stories online which is leaving me uneasy for just a mirror.

Surely it should be that expensive if it's just the mirror or do you have to simply replace the whole housing?

Looks like you aren't the only one :p

First link, that's exactly what it looks like right now.

*Sigh* Looks like i'm onto Ebay for a replacement Passenger side mirror.

Going off the second link, with this off ebay Mirror ebay

Is it just a case of removing that black holder thing and replacing it with the one on ebay?

Also there seems to be two kinds from that seller, electric and heated, I don't know if mine are heated, no heated mirror button like there is on my Accord.

Edit

Mine are heated, I turned my car on now to see how to take the black holder part, and that was getting warm, also that plate part seems to be held on by some white adhesive, seems awfully a cheap way to hold something in place?

The wing mirrors falling out was one of the common problems I read about online before I got my first Z4, thankfully its not happen on either of mine yet.

With my 530d before i went to see it, they had just sorted the swirl flaps out by blanking them off or something? Is this normal? I have heard about them becoming an issue before so sounds like they wanted to catch it early? Its an 08, my understanding is they sorted this issue by 09

It was annoying as well, My old man wanted to borrow it to take my nephew to Cardiff for the wales match.

He rarely drives it, so as he pulls out slowly, ironically it falls out, I was on my PC playing MGSV and heard the smash, I was straight out my seat.

Silly thing is an hour before I started it up to move the car off the drive to move another car onto the drive and everything was fine.

Oh well, that's life I guess, I still haven't replaced the drive side front indicator yet, I haven't got the tools to remove the wheel to have a better look through the wheel arch service hatch.

I'm having problems with Bluetooth, it used to work! It's a F20. It connects to my phone, I get the notification on my phone to allow access etc once it's done those two checks then it just hangs on "checking passkey" for some time then I have to force close it. Any ideas?

Anyone?

connect to the car but when it asks for permission to get your contacts and messages click no. I had an issue where itd connect but then disconnect and this sorted it. might work for you as well

It doesn't have a device attached. I enter the pass code etc requests access to phone, i decline/accept, then it hangs for a couple of minutes looking like it's doing something then just goes back to add device screen. I can see it works, because my signal strength shows on the screen when it's adding etc, so it must be doing something!

Because it actually is a manual. Its SMG not SAG.

When there are two options on AT and two gearbox options for the car then surely you'd choose the one that helps differentiate one gearbox from the other...

There isn't an SMG option and it's not a traditional stick-shift.

No it isn't... it's an automated sequential... that stick and those flappy paddles aren't pulling the gear selector forwards and back manually... they're switches triggering an automated system to do it for you.

Don't get me wrong... I absolutely adore proper sequential boxes and BMW SMG is sublime... but it is NOT a manual box.

It's a bunch of switches triggering a robot to do the "manual" selection for you... ie... auto ;)

A true manual sequential is the kind of thing you get in many race cars & underneath the robotic arm ;) it's the same thing in SMG... only it's not manually actuated... it's automated ;)

People who list an E46 M3 with SMG as manual should be slapped... especially when the choice is only H-box or SMG...
