BMW and M Power Owners

Minus the exotic (if a bit marmite) exhaust note :p

People say the same about the E46 M3, but sadly while some examples do, 95% of them won't, simply because the kind of owner now buying them goes to town on them like a man who has recently become a woman, and is just applying make-up for the first time.

Oh sorry, I originally read it as you'd done the US indicator thing but I'm waaaay off! I've not done the DRL one, got any pics?

No not us sidelights. Main beams at a lower voltage giving off less light.

On another note I had like 30 Odd fault codes stored - random codea which must have been old. Cleated them and now my idle is at 750-800 as before it was at 550-600. Not sure if the drl being on has put me strain on the alternator or if it's the cold weather.

Resetting codes wouldn't have reset my ecu thus losing my remap no?

Right, if I buy a 330d m sport or luxury auto (has to be auto) as no decent lease deals; looking at a maximum 1 year old, sub 10k miles on approved used, what discount should I target on list price.

List price is for brand new cars not used cars. The discount you should get on a used one is entirely dependant on how much they are asking and what its really worth.

Is my Z4M going to appreciate? I've been told it will multiple times by circle jerk owners but I'm sceptical, it's just an m3 but a sports car, not a CSL.

Exponentially :p.

On a more serious note the Z4Ms have held their value quite well, probably because they're relatively rare.

Good to see you as pedantic as ever:D, the price that is listed, as in on BMW approved used.

If it's up at say 26995 would pushing to 24000 be typical. Normally I would ring round and spend days on the phone and go up to them but I don't have time, so can only target one or two dealerships.

There are also what look to be a couple of pre reg up at just shy of 30k.

I'm not being pedantic, my point still stands. The individual dealer picks the price on the AUC site. Some are overpriced and you can expect thousands off, others are keenly priced and you will get very little discount. There is no rule as there is on a new car, it completely varies.

Hence my post.

Fox is pretty much correct, the AUC prices are close to what they want and you'll struggle to get much of a discount on price. They dont mess around on prices, you either pay or walk away. Few hundred quid maybe, never thousands. Good deals do come up once in a while so keep looking if you don't see anything. Took me a while to bag mine.

K mate cheers that's helpful; it's been so long since I have had any interest in cars and buying them, now I have the chance, I don't have the time to.

Having worked locally for years, I am back commuting 20k miles per year and have set myself this weekend to get something sorted.

This isn't true either - some of the cars have thousands in them, others have very little. I have always got 4 figures off.

It's like the length of a bit of string. But its generally related to what its worth versus how much they are asking. Some dealers ask nonsense prices which you can then get thousands taken off. Others list very keenly and won't move much.

Rear diff oil now changed on the M3 (got it wrong, thought it was gearbox). Good service this time from BMW, was in the dealership for all of 30 minutes before it was done.

Disappointed there weren't any new 7 series in there but had a nice play about with a 6 series, it's really an example of an interior done right. Except the weird nappa leather on the door, that looked terribly cheap. All digital instrument cluster was stunning though, is this standard?

It comes as part of the pro nav AFAIK...not sure if pro nav is standard in the 6 or not though.

Even with pro nav I don't think you get multi function display, its another extra.

Would have loved that. You can retrofit it....for £2000!

On the pre-LCI it was optional either as a standalone option or part of the M Sport + Pack, its now standard fit. Mine came as part of the M-Sport + pack with the Harmon Kardon, 20" Wheels and HUD, best option pack i've had :D

Are you confusing the black panel display with the multi function display? Couldn't get MFD on pre-LCI cars as far as I know.

LCI comes with black panel as standard and MFD is optional extra

I'm pretty sure what I'm talking about given its sat in front of me every time I get in my car...this is the 6 series...

This is a video I made when I collected the car
