BMW and M Power Owners

If space is a requirement have you considered a 330/340i Touring?

The 3 series is a fair bit more expensive, at least on list price alone. Space is not a huge requirement, but I can't run a 2 seater as an only car and I would prefer 4 doors over a coupe.

so the mrs and I have finally bought our first BMW

Originally had an order placed for a Range Rover but after waiting 7 months for the new model, our patience ran out (and I didn't want the damn thing anyway)

so...

2015 BMW 116d Sport 5dr
Black
18" Double Spoke Alloys
Drivers Comfort Package
Privacy Glass
Ex-Demo car with 6,000 miles
5 Year Free Servicing

List Price was £24,790

Managed to get it for a nice round £15,000

Hopefully pick it up this weekend all being well

Aside from the oddity surrounding originally wanting a Range Rover... That at least seems like a bit of a bargain to me after a quick AT scan?!

I'm in two minds whether to go through or not. Everything is in place, £2500 deposit then £437 for 47 months. They want a returnable £500 deposit then to confirm the spec of the car for a mid December delivery date.

Buy a second hand M135i now all the poverty spec ex lease cars are hitting the market the prices have dropped a lot. Local dealer recently had a high spec M135i up for 24k at less than 2 years old it didn't sell for over 2 months I suspect it eventually went for 20-21k.

Finance it via a bank loan and at the end of the 4 years you should have a car worth at least 10k rather than giving it back.

I think that says more about your deal on the TT than it does about the 1 series deal.

Oh no doubt...it wasn't a bad price for the car at the time but in hindsight I should have waited as prices have slightly dropped due to mk3 coming out. Also the finance Apr rate is pants (dunno why used car finance interest is so much more than new) so I'm looking at getting off it asap.

Nearly new 1 series for £15k, I know it's a 116d but it seems too cheap!

That seems too cheap! Even with the mileage!

I thought that initially, at 82k it no longer qualifies for the cheaper BMW warranty. Form a private dealer you don't get the 1 year AUC warranty which is worth around 1k , a flood of 3 year old 530D Tourings (I assume ex-lease) hit the BMW AUC over the last few weeks selling for 21-23k with more than half the mileage.

Basically this, it's about right.

Not seen this 'flood' of 62 plate 530d Tourings at £21k though!?

The absolute cheapest decent 530d Touring with Xenon's and Nav on the whole AUC site is a 2010 SE, the cheapest 2012 or newer is £26700?

Yeah I suppose once you add the warranty into it, it does become less appealing however a warranty is another £1400, so £16.9k is still a good price all in.
If you can point me in the direction of 62 plate AUC 530d's that'll be great :D

This seems to be the norm for £21k:

I wanted to buy a private example but they are all so optimistic with price that by the time you factor in the cost of the warranty - or two years warranty as I always manage to get another year in the deal - they need to be at least £3500 cheaper than the same car at a dealer to be worth considering and they almost never are.

I know it's "only" a 525d and not a 530d or 535d, but this seems like a well priced car.

EDIT - could be a scam though!

I just phoned this guy. Here's how the conversation went:

Me - hello?......hello?......hello?
Him......(tv noise in the background).....hmmmm.....hmmmm.....yeah....
Me: Er, just calling about your car for sale on autotrader.
Him: hahahaha, yeah...it might be still there...you want it?
Me: So it's still for sale?
Him: Yeah
Me: Ok whereabouts are you located?
Him: South West London, Clapham. You want it?
Me: I'll call you later then to arrange a viewing, thanks. *put the phone down*.

Very weird conversation. I'm no longer interested in the car!

Most are sold now. I have been keeping a close eye on them, I don't think I will ever find a 535i

Still a few about that all appeared at the same time, some are 4 years old they have hung about for a while so I expect deals can be done on these.

2012 530D M Sport good spec for 24k (not a great mileage to buy at though), I am confident you could get 1-2k off this first thing I would mention is the kerbed wheel.(why put this in the photos !)
