Car has asked for a litre of engine oil to be added - its a F10 528i that had its service last March (included oil).
What brand/ grade oil should I be adding? Service receipt just says "BULK". Will having two brands of oil cause mayhem?

Check the bottle though. There are two types. One for VAG and one that you can use.

Edge 0W30 is the correct oil - it's also VAG approved too, so it's not true that 'one is for VAG and one you can use'.
You need BMW LL04 oil, of which Edge 0w30 is one.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahah, clean up on keyboard please. I just spat my tea out. Oh wait, you're serious?
And one is £9.99 and the other £4.99 yet they still have exactly the same fluid in. Am I right?
I was literally looking at the bottles yesterday. There were two different types. They each list the manufacturers on them that are compatible. One has bmw listed. One doesn't.
Infact check the website. That shows what I'm saying. One is 0w30 and one is 0w30 a5/b5.
CASTROL EDGE 0W-30

Yup I was mistaken, was thinking of Jlr. However, I was correct to point out there are two types.
