BMW and M Power Owners

Always wanted to drive an E39 M5!!

Had one for about an hour on a test drive years back when I had my e38, fond memories of my then ~7 year old daughter laughing because the acceleration held her back in her seat no matter how hard she tried to lean forward!

Wonderful cars, on the almost never ending list of BMW's I hope to own - but in reality doubt I will. :/

If you have black exhaust tips we can swap exhausts for free if you want.

Pretty sure mine are standard chrome ones, although they are starting to go black after some spirited driving..

How come you would be looking to switch the exhaust? M3 moving on, or neighbours complaining? :D

Anyone got/tested a 435d, is it any good? (I suppose a newer 335d counts here too)

Also, M135/235i owners, what sort of MPG do you get (purely out of interest)?

My own fault for not checking but my son opened the car door on the way to work today. I can only assume that BMW switched off the child locks when they carried out the repair work this week. Momentary panic ensued but luckily no cars were on the inside of me at the time.

When I test drove a 235i I was getting mid thirties I think. It was a little while ago though! I'd wait for some proper answers from owners though :)

While not a newer 335d (a 2010 model), when I had mine, I averaged around 38 mpg in it. I was hoofing it all over the place though, with scant regard to fuel economy. And it was remapped to 340 bhp.

Low 20's (235i). My commute is pretty terrible for traffic. I never use eco pro though - comfort or sport always. I think a motorway run would be ~30 but I've never really paid much attention.

I've test driven a 435d GC xdrive, what specifically did you want to know about it? Other than being noticeably quicker off the mark than the 430D rwd I ended up with, its pretty much identical.

Picked up our new 320d Xdrive Sport Touring on Monday. 800 miles done so far.

Just wondered what you thought to it in general. The performance looks rather impressive. The GC has some good practicality aspects, while maintaining the coupe style (even though it's similar to a 3 saloon really).

I went to BMW this morning to buy 6 coilpacks, ended up coming out with just 2 as they basically said there is no need to change the lot. Only £36 for the 2 aswell.

Anyway, changed them this morning and can tell a noticeable difference in power and the EML has disappeared. It went off on the first start up after changing the 2 coil packs.

Never seen a car do that before, normally always had to erase the code.
