BMW and M Power Owners

Yeah, they've taken it down already.

630i Sport. 07, but just before the refresh. £11990, less £1750 trade in for a 60 reg Fiat Panda. £2k deposit and the rest on finance.

Within a day they've gone from a Fiat Panda, to that, without even thinking properly about it. This can only end well.

Not for me, but does anyone know if warrantywise/warrantydirect would pay out for a 20d timing chain stretch or failure? Or is the BMW warranty the only sensible option?

To answer the question, £11990 is not a good deal for a 90k mile pre LCI 6...

They might do dependent on the t&c's but it'd be more likely to be a fight or a part contribution than with the BMW warranty. There usually isn't much of a monthly cost difference between the two anyway is there?

Probably not if you're below the 60k threshold but I think he's looking at cars above that

Only my opinion but the 20d as an engine choice totally sucks. It is a flawed design with significant known issues, and is rough and noisy in most applications.

Why buy into that?

Received the M140i yesterday, what a beast. Complete Jekyl & Hyde car. Soft, squidgy & economical (44mpg at 70mph) in eco-boost mode....and something completely different in Sport. Dear lord, what a machine. Sat mainly in traffic yesterday but will be out for a 5-6 hour drive today.

I love my M135i and I completely agree with your opinion that they have two very different personalities depending upon which mode you have it in.

My mpg record was 44mpg door to door, and supposedly the new B58 engine should be even more economical. I noticed a big improvement in efficiency once I'd passed 13k miles in mine as well.

Do you have any plans to take it for any track days? I've done a few in mine and it's great fun to really open it up and enjoy the performance properly.

Did Chester -> Leeds & back today, average of 38mpg (with some enthusiastic driving). No real plans for a track day, but who knows? :) It's an absolute beauty to drive.

Gave my car its proper clean today and realised I hadn't posted it in the BMW thread yet so here it is

Had it two weeks now and absolutely loving it.

Great to see one in a colour other than estoril!
That colour looks fantastic with a red interior as well as the black.

Car started crying at me yesterday saying it needed 1ltr of oil.

Rang BMW and they said this is normal. 1ltr every 1k miles is normal, i have done 5k miles so guess thats good right?

1ltr every 1k miles is RX8 oil consumption...

Hi guys,

I'm thinking about getting a new car and am a big fan of the 5 series, due to the milage I do (at most 250 miles every fortnight) I need a petrol. I'm just looking at various options at the moment, but does this car seem like it's a steal or is it just me?

BMW 535

If I decide to go for a 530, 535 what trim level would be best and what are the must have optional features?

Must haves go as far as Pro Nav. That's about it really. Anything over and above that is really a nice-to-have.

I would, personally, go for M-Sport, but it is not required, I just much prefer the look.

I thought that seemed like a really good deal, but im not sure if you are missing that its a manual - massive clanger and probably why it is cheap? :p

This has been for sale for some time now. I suspect it's very nice but the manual box is making it a tough sell.

Thinking to change the wife's 63 plate Ibiza Cupra 1.4 DSG, to something more usable on longer trips, plus her daily commute which totals 36 miles.

Thinking of a 1 series, 3 Door Auto, 120d M-Sport as possible option.
Any nasty or problematic issues to check for or worry about on these?
