BMW and M Power Owners

Quick question for those that have a BMW Insured Warranty. Am I compelled to use a main dealer to replace my brake pads in order to retain this given it is a reported "service" item by the vehicle. Ordinarily I would assume that the major and minor service via the main dealer are the only requirement, however as the service schedule is dynamic and broken into 5/6 areas it is not entirely clear. I don't have my policy documents to hand and the BMW site isn't clear.

It shouldn't need a coolant top up. Sure there isn't a fault somewhere?

Yeah this is my concern, currently on 7500 miles. I will have a look at the min/max later to see if it's actually low, need to find me a torch...

There have been other reports of 330e with the same issue but generally only in the first few hundred miles then it 'goes away'.

Seems like BMW have switched oils for M cars now and are recommending 5w40 Pennzoil? Apparently to combat rod bearing wear in colder weather?

And the Pennzoil/M6 advert in question:

Pretty sweet ad to be fair, also look at that gearbox choice  Although, the sound of the shifts is that of the DCT box, not the manual...

Why oh why do the reversing cameras on BMW's not hide away when not in use, in this weather it makes them almost unusable after a long run :p #firstworldproblems

Even my poverty Jag had them hidden away until needed

It's not just his at all, iirc the 6 Series is the only car in the range with a hidden camera. All others have boot handle recess mounted cameras.
