BMW and M Power Owners

First time I've had both my current cars near each other. Ever.

Yes, I know... "couldn't afford paint" "black grills are terrible OMG (even though they are BMW items)" etc

Also M3 will be up for sale shortly, after a rather ridiculous 3 months of pain with it (see other thread) and will be replaced with something that isn't white lol.

While waiting for my airbag recall to be done today, was marching around the M3 competition saloon. I can see myself in one of these things. The interior is rather roomy, more roomy than I remember of the E90. Apart from a couple of scratchy plastics down by the kick plates, all is in solid order, and the carbon fibre trim did look rather nice. The competition pack seats with the "tickle the person in front" holes are very comfortable.

Do want, but not at the asking price. Let's see how far they drop in price in coming years :p

Looked naff in white, mind.

I take back what I said about those star alloys, they do look pretty good up close, but are no doubt murderous to clean.

I urge you to try driving one. I completely agree with everything you say and the idea of a competition pack (I like the wheels) M3 saloon in a non-boring colour really suits me, I just found it so ridiculously dull to drive. A friend offered me a max spec (literally, even had side blinds in the rear!) M3 for £36k and even for that much of a bargain I couldn't say yes.

Given your love of the S54, I can see you finding the S55 soulless.

I want to t at drive one but Fox will abuse me for wasting BMW's Time :P

I do remmeber you mentioning the dull feeling befire now, hmm that puts a downer on things for sure. I'll enquire tomorrow, rather be disappointed now instead of later I guess!

I've been looking at them for a long time now and I'm looking at taking one out for a test drive on Friday/next week.

Wife says it sounds like a teenager's Honda Civic :|
I have a very well maintained 2008 facelift E60 M5 with only 83000 miles. Some odd weeks ago it lunched its engine and BMW spent £30,000 sorting it under warranty. These cars are not for the faint of heart or shallow of pocket.

Ouch. This one has done 56000 miles and I'll be making sure it's warrantied if I end up getting it. It won't be a daily driver either as I work from home.

Oh my. What went wrong if I may ask?
I presume you don't use the M5 for commuting?
