I didn't say they did. However, for our military jets to take off and land in Afghanistan they must have Defence Aid Suites as per MOD protocol due to the Surface to Air Fire threat that is present. My point was, international civilian flights still fly through areas of conflict.
Jets fly a lot lower than commercial aircraft.
If that were true why is Russia Today available of Freeview in this country? What about the army of Nashi bots who post the most vitriolic tosh on any anti-Putin article in the Guardian or Independent? Why did so many people on this forum believe that the chemical weapon attack was a false flag attack carried out by the Syrian rebels?

Sorry,I am not getting into all this masked xenophobia crap. At any one point in the last 200 years in the UK alone,we have had some "enemy" who is horrible and foreign,just like the Russians,just like so many other "great powers". Civilian aircraft generally are jets. Military aircraft cruise and loiter at high altitude or do you think they are all like Maverick and Goose flying nap of the earth busting towers?

Very unlikely against that system I'm afraid! Even if the CM did work, one vehicle has 4 missiles on the rail. In a standard battery they have two of these TELARS and one TEL that acts as reloader. The TEL can also fire off missiles, even though it has no RADAR, so long as it is accompanied with a TELAR (that do have RADARs). So you're looking at 12 missiles all being able to be fired in close succession, with the ability to reload very quickly. In this incident though, assuming it was just this one TELAR, that is still more than enough to shoot down one jet with DAS.
Having said this, how likely is it that commercial jets the world over will have DAS installed as a level of protection should the unthinkable occur? Could you imagine the cost!

Western media being broadcast around the world is usually to generate extra revenue, since they're all independent companies etc.
