Boeing 777 shot down

I'm more surprised his AK has an AR stock adapter on it personally.

Assuming a RE-47 VLTOR that would be minorly interesting as they aren't generally available in that part of the world. (US State dept. doesn't allow them to be exported).

Is that a Kosher bottle of Coca Cola on the ground as well?

I bet those drunk russians at the crash site the OCSE monitors were talking about actually found all the mini booze bottles ;)

We all know it's almost impossible to smash a glass bottle that has an airtight seal ;);)

you'll find British pattern DPM in various conflict zones... plenty of African fighters in various wars wearing combat 95s etc...

presumably some Russian bought a load of surplus

See what i was saying about how they go on and on about all the victims in the media and just repeat it over and over. One thing I never heard though is them say about a victim, yea this guy X well he was not such a great guy, no one liked him and he was a bit selfish, shame he died, but yea we don't have 30 mins of footage to fill with him.

Not too disrespect the victims but the media coverage is over the top a bit i think.

Reflecting ill on the victims of such a situation would doubtless be considered as pushing the concept of investigative journalism that bit too far. Unless someone like Gary Glitter was a passenger.

Statistically it seems unlikely that every child on that plane was in fact a perfect little angel. However, it is most unlikely that there will be any media coverage of how some neighbours are relieved that a little monster will no longer be blighting their existence. Just not going to happen.

Quite insightful investigation with images/infographs/geolocations/maps ect

Joyful rebel remarks and convos of shooting down UKR transport plane AN26.

Even Russian state media was quick to jump on downing Ukr plane, only later to realise it was a passenger Boeing.

Contaminating crash site, hiding evidence, stalling investigation, stealing victims' belongings - golden rings/money/credit cards:

Numerous sightings of hauled BukM system in the mh17 downing area:

And sly efforts to sneak it out:

Investigation into approximate launch location, fresh satellite images from 20th of July:

And then we get official russian 'black flag' version of Su25 (with max operational alt 5 km while loaded) blatantly chasing Boeing (10 km) for hundreds km (~250km from Dnipropetrovsk UAF operational base), wading into the middle of rebel held heavy SAM/Manpad protected territory, somehow managing to shoot it down despite alt difference, coming back as if no one's business.
I was really hoping these Russ gens can do better.

But then why should they care about those poor foreign civilians when historically they never even valued their own citizens lives (Shtrafbats/Gulag to say at least).
Just to name a few in the last decade - suspicious apartment bombings in 1999, though some tenants caught FSB operatives red handed while placing the very same explosives, called the police but it was written off as a mere 'exercise'.
Which facilitated second Chechen invasion and basically resulted in number of major cities/villages reduced to the rubble with their very own Russian civilians.
Or refusing Norweagian equipment to save those trapped KURSK sailors.
Or freeing NORDOST hostages by poisoning everyone and then 'forgetting' ANTIDOTE to save the innocent.
Or storming BESLAN school held by terrorist with TANKS.
I guess that's what you get when you are ruled by KGB spies/officers.

As if tensions weren't high enough:

An inquiry will be held into the death of the Russian dissident Alexander Litvinenko, the Home Secretary Theresa May is expected to announce.

Mr Litvinenko, a former KGB officer, died in 2006 in a London hospital after he was allegedly poisoned with radio active polonium.

The investigation is set to examine whether the Russian state was behind his death.
