Boeing 777 shot down

There's large bits of debris so hopefully they'll confirm that it's not mh370 being used as a false flag having been flown out of Diego Garcia as has been suggested in the conspiracy sphere.

They were claiming they had shot down a Ukrainian military jet, not a passenger jet.

Initially yes. But the Taliban would claim credit for terrorist related activity where the Pro-Russian separatists would not.

Hence why they would instantly look to remove any evidence of their initial gloating about a down military aircraft.

Just a slightly poor comparison, Taliban would indiscrimately claim credit for anything they could :D

It's most likely the Russians or Russian terrorists who shot this down but you have to question why the pilots are flyng over this region given that a couple of military planes have been shot down recently.

As far as I know Pro-Russian separatists don't have any aircraft, so if Ukraine were to be shooting planes they'd be doing it knowing they're Russian planes. Haven't all of the aircraft shot down been Ukranian aircraft by the Pro-Russian separatists ? Personally I believe Pro-Russian separatists or Russian troops guised as Pro-Russian separatists shot it down in error.

Separatist, terrorist, rebel.

Does anyone really know who is what and who they are fighting for?

I wonder the same thing, the eastern Ukrainian Oligarchs are buying the weaponry from Russia but the Russian government won't put boots on the ground and have effectively left the pro Russians fighters to die.

Airlines from loads of countries are now saying they won't fly over the Ukraine anymore. Surely it would have been common sense for them to stop long before now.

out of curiosity did you see those posts or did someone just tell you there were these posts and then that they were deleted ?

Reddit translation, no idea if accurate.

AN-26 airplane was shot down near Torez, it fell somewhere behind the mine "Progress".
We warned - do not fly in "our sky".
And here is the video proof of another "bird-fall" (bird = slang for an airplane).
Another bird fell behind the spoil tip, residential areas were not affected.
No civilians were harmed.

Crimea is russian. Why is the BBC showing it as Ukrainian. Can't stand things like that

BBC looks correct. Although as it stands at the moment Russia have taken it. I can't see it staying that way though. Today's event will only escalate things.

RIP to all of those on board.

Regardless of who did it or how it happened, as with all air crashes this is a tragedy and my thoughts go out to the families of those lost, and to the folk who will have to pick up the pieces over the coming weeks.
