Brazilian Grand Prix 2012, São Paulo - Race 20/20

What if Schumacher had fought and had taken Vettel out and been the deciding factor?

I don't think the FIA need to get involved in penalizing drivers for yielding. Where would the line be? Massa letting Alonso past is OK, a Torro Roso letting a Red Bull past is wrong, a HRT letting a title Challenger past is OK but a midfielder letting them past is wrong? It would be an unmanageable mess.

I understand the what you are getting at, but lets spin it back again. Had Petrov moved out the way and said he didn't want to be involved in an incident with a title contender and Alonso took the title, what back in 2010 would your honest reaction have been? :)

You could end up in 97 scenario again with all sorts of shady deals being done. I remember the initial anger at Glock when they though he slowed to give hamilton the title, unfortunately I was one of them :D

They didn't miss it. Brundle who use to race even thought it was yellow. They even suggested that they lifted off the throttle letting Vettel by and hence not a proper overtake.

Be nice if someone's got a DSLR shot of it, as it certainly looked solid yellow in onboard. Maybe onboard camera for that distance and speed is to low resolution, or maybe they put wrong "flag" out, it wouldn't be the first time.

I didn't mean they missed the incident itself, I meant that they didn't seem to notice that they were the only people talking about it.

No that's what I mean, they didn't miss the fact Ferrari or fia hadn't done anything. They said multiple times that fia hadn't flagged it up and that no one had appeared to make a challenge.

I'd have been annoyed, as would a lot of people.

I can see the argument for some of them, but to be able to regulate there has to be a rule for all, and quite a few times we've had a slow driver out of position holding someone up with everyone, including commentator calling for them to get out of the way as they aren't really racing them.

I can guarantee that after his spin none of the back markers put up much of a fight before letting Vettel past. Should that be penalized? Intact how would you be able to even tell if Vettel sailing past a HRT was deliberate or just because the HRT is so slow.

Yeah, but they didn't seem to twig that it was because there wasn't an issue.

As much as people like to think it, the FIA don't selectively choose to just ignore on track incidents.

Tricky corner in the dry (as mentioned on BBC commentary a few times)
Tricky conditions
Unknown quantity directly inside him

LH shouldnt have put himself in that position

I will admit , its a very fine line, but thats what F1 is about. LH is meant to be one of the best drivers in the world, he didnt NEED to push on that one corner to win the race

edit - wait right behind until the DRS zone and cruise past him, no danger at all. LH yet again pushes a bad position and pays for it

What?...Hulkenburg was overtaking Hamilton . What 'position' did he put himself in? Was he supposed to magically dissapear?

Lewis didnt push at all he just stayed behind the Caterham and gave Hulk loads of room on the inside. I cannot see how this was Lewis's fault in anyway?

Post race quote from Kimi:

You've got to love Kimi!

With a points finish in all but one race this year (correct me if I'm wrong) 1 win, 7 podiums, no DNFs - A repeat performance next year with a couple more wins could easily see him be the 2013 champion.

I sure hope so, he's by far my favourite driver.

Apparently the solid yellow boards were yellow and red. That is the fia's take on it according to sky right near the end of their broadcast.

Thank God Schuey has finally gone. He had achieved lots during his reign, he only spoiled his legacy by coming back not forgetting his relationship with Ferrari. This time I hope it's for good, but I do admire the bloke for trying otherwise what else can he do? Commentary; FIA Steward? lol

How on earth do you spoil passed acheivments. Did him coming back rewrite the history books. It's a position I'll never understand.

Also I hope he comes back as some sort of team manager
