Brazilian Grand Prix 2012, São Paulo - Race 20/20

Thanks, that's what I was trying to type next but you put it more clearly than I was coming up with.

The computer systems are very impressive. If a car leaves the track the computer automatically sets a yellow flag light, notifies the FIA, and automatically collects all TV and CCTV footage of that point of the track when the incident happened and sends it to the FIA. You simply can't get away with stuff because nobody saw it any more.

Yes, but I believe the zone starts at the yellow light and not before.

Yep. There is an imaginary line across the track at the point the flag or light is, and that's where the zone starts. Not to mention it wasn't a proper pass, the HRT pulled over to let him through.

It would be interesting to know when that was. Was it early on when Vettel was coming through from the back, and if so where are the calls for a ban on letting people past like there was with Schumacher? Or was it later in the race and he was lapping the HRT, in which case the HRT had prob seen a bunch of blue flags and had to let him past.

Either way, not a yellow flag overtake.

That one is crystal clear, Naughty Seb.

A 3 second video that shows one light and nothing preceding it? Hardly concrete is it, pathetic attempt that is. Allan McNish said that the yellow zone starts from the light and to imagine there's a line running across the track from there, that's where the zone begins. If there was one before that and he'd seen it then fair enough, but that's not conclusive is it.

That one is pretty clear. Won't make a difference though.

Quite right it won't, because it's inconclusive from that video. He didn't break any rules there. Even on his dash it doesn't say "flag" either so you assume the zone before that was a green light zone..

How do you know where it starts? your clutching at the same straws.

AT the light, he passes before it. McNish was the drivers' steward before wasn't he? Think he'd have a better idea than you. I'm not clutching at anything mate, you're the bitter one trying to dig up anything to make an argument out of nothing :D

Think McNish was in the Sky pad telling us how Seb passed under yellows so not sure why you think he defends it?, the video does not show if that was the first yellow and therefore the start of the yellow zone.

He said the zone STARTS from the light and you'd imagine a line directly across the track FROM the light itself. He passes in that video before it. Are you just being thick or arguing for the sake of arguing? In relation to that video, you are wrong. Accept it.

Are you being thick? You have no idea if that is the first flashing yellow or not do you.

If it's the first yellow then no foul, if not then he has overtaken under yellows.

Read above. Nuff said. Anything else?

So you have no idea if it was the first yellow and therefore the start of the yellow zone.

Hang on a minute, you posted the video claiming it was overtaking under yellows. I stated it's not conclusive from a 3 second video and clairified the rule to you. You're wrong, not me. Stop trolling and making an idiot of yourself.

I never claimed anything at all. So really rewind a little and count to 10.

Seems Princess Stampy Foot applies to his fans too :D LOL at "you are trolling" cause I don't agree with you.

Says the guy stamping his foot claiming a nothing video warrants punishment. You are truly pathetic. The driver I support won the title, got nothing to complain about unlike you ;)

Again I never claimed anything, you are just ranting away at something that you think was claimed, brilliant :D

So:

"The section of the track through which Vettel made his move for position on the Sauber was not accessible for marshalls to work at, and so their role had been taken by the electronic illuminated boards which showed as a block of steady yellow on the TV video replays."

So what is this saying?

1: That the boards should have been yellow and red but were yellow by mistake?

2: The boards were yellow steady deliberately which is the same as red and yellow flags?

3: The boards were in fact yellow and red but on board footage does not display it clearly/properly with that camera so they look steady yellow?

I'm only asking out of interest and do not have it in for Vettel unecessarily. I just think with F1, there are rules which are strictly followed so I like to see consistency. For me at the moment it looks to my eyes like he overtook on yellows so I do not understand.

He still would have been top ten anyway had he been given a penalty no?

I think the main issue is the first lap incident that was not even investigated.

The HRT pass is at the start of lap 3. If you watch the BBC iPlayer footage you can see that the light before, the one under the bridge just before the apex of turn 1, is green. That yellow light is the first of the zone.
