Break checked and crashed

You crossed two lanes at once to reach the exit at short notice and ended up behind the audi with too much speed and too little distance.

There was the opportunity to get away with nothing but the shame of missing the exit but you went for a high speed dodge around the audi and it went horribly wrong.

I'm sure insurance would love to see the video but I wouldn't show them. Just say you ran into the barrier because a puppy was on the road.

I hadn’t noticed the airbag going off the first time I watched it. It is likely what broke the window and it actually looks like a pretty hard impact.

It looks like the Audi driver lifted off as they were pulling into the slip lane but as other said the main beam went on before the Audi started braking. Pretty shameful driving really.

Err wow. Your fault entirely OP. Potentially careless driving too. I would not send that to your insurer.

Also... "Hey, please can I use your video in my compilation? Full credit given" ;)

audi was signalling and positioned correctly, slowed because of the blocked lane, you left it way too late to cut over instead of pulling in behind the Audi. absolutely no "break" checking at all.

did he hit the other car then ? I assumed not , otherwise he'd probably have spun

he must have written the car off - he's also hit the concrete barrier behind the lights, end on, sump, sub-tray, suspension ..

I've managed to source footage from the Audi driver just after the accident:

Looks like footage after the event to me. After seeing the op crash into a barrier and going LOL before flooring it off the motorway.

Watch it in slow motion. He hits the end of the barrier at some speed after he goes through the cones. I reckon the car will be a write off.

What speeds were the two parties at before the crash, correct me if I am wrong but is that stretch 60mph with cameras, you can see them early on in the video? You can also see the Audi braking next to the change in speed limit, down to 50mph, the sign on the verge where the slip road starts. But I don't drive that road so I might be wrong, the entire stretch might be 50mph.

This is undoubtedly the fault of the Audi driver. Make sure to give the footage to your insurers to make sure they don't try and pass the blame onto yourself.

pity you can't see accident record for the audi driver, to see what other rear shunts he has had - as cheeseboy said,
you(anyone with experience/brain-cells) don't brake stupidly (if at all) going off a slip road,
presumably the intensity of the audi brake lights doesn't indicate if the car was deploying emergency assisted braking.
