Breaking Bad Season 5 - Part I

I don't see Mike making it to the end, I think Walt or the DEA will take him out.
I think Walt will do it, I also think he needs to in order to complete his ascension. He might be the boss, but while Mike is around Walt still has someone that looks down to him, and is not afraid to show it.

Even if Walt doesn't kill Mike, I'd still expect at least one important character to die at Walts hands, I reckon that's how they'll make the viewer ok with his eventuall downfall. Not that it's required at this point, but it's tv so they will most likely hammer home the point.

Having said all that who knows, it seems quite clear with season 5 so far that they're making every effort possible to not be predictable.

LOL

That exact 2 second clip is my favourite part of the entire show, not just that episode.

Just saw someone post this

Man, Breaking Bad is SO GOOD. Anyone else recognize the relevance of the fact that Walt's baby is always dressed as a pink bear? Uh ohs.

I don't understand what they mean :(

Thats just messed up if they mean anything by it.

Remember season 3? The pink bear in the pool at the start of nearly every episode?

The transformation of Walt is complete for me. Totally unlikeable character now and I hope for, and look forward to, his demise in whatever form it comes.

Funny, I thought his reaction to:

The kid's dead body

...at the start of the episode suggested he might still just have a conscience left, but I turned against him after he threatened Skyler a couple of episodes back. It was clear from that point that any "I'm doing this for my family" line was complete nonsense. He's doing this for him.

Surely the baby is just dressed in pink because it's a girl? I've never seen any evidence of a "bear" costume. It's a onesie.

He is still bitter about what happened with Gray Matter and how he should already be well off.

He is doing this for his kids and himself. The hell with Skylar.

btw, looks like they caught Walter White in the next episode.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — A man who shares the same name with television's most noted meth dealer is wanted by authorities in Alabama for allegedly violating his probation for a past meth conviction.

The Tuscaloosa News reported Thursday (http://bit.ly/MB9TQi ) that 55-year-old Walter White was placed on probation after a 2008 conviction for making methamphetamine. The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office recently placed White on its most-wanted list after his arrest on similar charges in Bibb County this year.

On TV, Walter White has so far evaded capture. The character played by Bryan Cranston in AMC's "Breaking Bad" is a high school chemistry teacher who turns to cooking meth to help support his family after he's diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.

The show is in its fifth and final season. Cranston has won three consecutive Emmys

Sorry, but there's no way he's doing this for his kids.

If he was, he'd have accepted the $5m on offer. That's more than enough to set up his kids for life. Instead his "building an empire" speech clearly showed that he's in this for the personal fulfilment. He wants power and glory for the sake of it. No other reason.

As I said before, at some point I'm expecting Walt Jr to find out, and I think Walt will still continue to cook, even after his own son demands he stops/refuses to take any more money/disowns him. Because that's what he does now.

Walt is as trapped in his life now as he was at the start of this show.

Is it Vince’s way of foreshadowing Holly’s death? Vince has suggested, after all, that Walt does something in the final season that is so bad we could never again sympathize with him. Does he sacrifice his daughter to save his business?

I just sat & read the link above about the foreshadowing, I'm gonna have to go back & watch everything again, I've missed so much - & I already thought it was an awesome show, now I'm really impressed.

Same here :eek::eek::eek:

I did notice the purple thing in Marie's house in the last episode but I thought that was them showing her as being a bit of a control freak. I also noticed that Walt was wearing a nice shirt so he is obviously become more overt but I didn't really pick up on any of the other colour changes.

Edit - Clever Pun: Saul Goodman = S’ All Good Man - never thought of that! :o

Edit 2 -

I think the latest episode makes it pretty clear that Walt is now driven more by his own ego than anything else. Plus the fact that he's lost control of his family in every way means that he wants to keep a hold of the only thing in his life where he can say he's boss.

He's become so arrogant now too. It's pretty brutal to see his character change in that way.

This series is surely one of the best TV Shows of all time?
The depth of detail that goes into each episode is incredible.

Thanks to Robert1986 for posting about this show. Otherwise I wouldn't have found it!
