as long as the game is fun who cares about mechanics/semantics ?

Why? Are you under the impression that game mechanics don't make a game?

The thing is you can't have it both ways. The regular hipfire is your generic 'slowly increasing spread the longer you fire' mechanic. That is sure as hell not a part of twitch games like UT. Then its thrown in the iron sights which as you said, slow things down, except its using no recoil which is meant to speed things up... Seriously what is it? You can't be trying to speed up the game and slow it down, either weapons have recoil like they do in hipfire or they don't have it at all.

I'm hoping, as it looks like firing from the hip when up close is a valid option, that ironsights will just be useful for medium/long ranges. That could work out ok - furious and faster paced combat when toe to toe, but more measured aiming when trying take down someone across the map.

Its difficult to gauge from the videos but it looks like the spray n pray burst becomes too wide spread almost anywhere beyond the end of your nose. Especially given how many shots it takes to kill someone so most of your time is gonna be spent down sights. Course thats only 1 gun so who knows...

if a game is fun it doesnt matter about realism, how can you not understand this simple premise ?

If anyones not understanding something simple i believe its you. No, the choice of molotov doesn't matter apart from looking stupid. But if you believe the MECHANICS of the game don't affect whether its fun or not then i can only wonder how you manage to tie your own shoe laces without drooling.

oooh arent you an evil little sod !!!

anyways, still looking forward to this unrealistic shooter

i was hyped about it when i first saw it ages ago, thought it looked really fresh looking with the parkour etc

but the more footage i see the more underwhelmed i become

Im about 70% sure I'll be getting this. People saying the MP is like Halo is putting me off as Im only getting it for the MP. I was expecting an indepth preview by now but no ones has got one.

I have the niggling feeling its a 7/10 with reviewers saying its a "fresh looking FPS with elements of TF2, Borderlands and Halo running underneath keeping it going".. I really want this to be a great game, love the artwork and the idea behind it.

I must say I'm not seeing a lot of free running in the videos considering its supposed to be a major selling point. Hell most of the areas there isn't even anything to free run with.

I guess that explains why they chose Molotovs though. Because it sounds cool when you're trying to sell the game, despite the fact it doesn't do anything that a Molotov is associated with.

Yet another game with a generic CoD ranking system. Hell its practically identical, rank up for weapons and abilities, challenges for weapon mods. No doubt low ranking players will be getting slaughtered by superior weapons then?

Same as BFBC2 in that respect, and low level players don't get 'slaughtered' in that.

Perhaps but then BC2s weapons were more or less balanced with the odd exception. The 'perks', not so much. Still, at least it was better than Blops with its 'Pro' perks that were considerably better than the default that you had to complete arbitrary challenges to unlock.

Having to unlock half your abilities/weapons just means you have way less versatility than your opponents in a game like this.

It's actually different, you unlock everything which impacts gameplay at low levels, higher level abilites are just to refine your own play style. They've been very careful so hardcore players don't totally rape casual players.

Also the movement does play a massive role in the game, but most of the time they're busy showing objectives or it's just noobs playing at conventions who don't really know properly how to use the games mechanics to their advantage and just stand and shoot.

Generic COD level up ? Where do you think COD took the generic level up from. The same company thats making this game in Enemy terroitry, its evolution.

The benifit of being around since the zx81 in gaming.

I turning into my dad, expect this is gaming not crap 60s music :)
