BRINK

Anyone know how new weapon attachments and armour is unlocked?

All I've heard, is in one video he says, "which weapons you've chosen to buy as you level up".

It doesn't look that bad after checking out some proper gameplay videos on youtube and not those useless tutorials which seem to have completely different mechanics. Still think i'd wait until after release for some proper reviews though.

I don't understand this obsession that modern fps's seem to have with character customisation. Does anyone really think having a gazillion possible different character appearences makes the game any more enjoyable than say 5?

It's nice to have your character looking unlike the others, not very unique if there are 8 of you wandering around the map.

Been playing it for a few hours.

The shooting isn't all that satisfying, SMART is very clunky if you want to do anything more than vault over objects, objectives are surprisingly convoluted and hard to follow, and switching class/weapons/bodytype isn't as streamlined as it could've been.

However the game overall is quite enjoyable. Very engaging firefights when it's truly team vs team. Really the team play aspect makes the game. Grenades are wonky and the regular grenade explosion is laughably lazy, however molotvs wreck ****. Awesome weapon design and some pretty interesting maps.

Story is hard to follow, and never play campaign solo. It's just multiplayer with bots, except you'll stomp them every time and defense objectives are just an exercise in waiting since the AI is laughably dumb and easy even on harder difficulties.

Game will be hated by some and enjoyed by others. Unlocking weapon attachments is kind of strange, and you get them in packs. Parkour challenges give you front grips and silencers in the second star for example.

Posted by someone playing the leaked version, so it's on the 360.

Overall the game seems to be fairly good, some things could be done to refine it which SDK would help with if released, certainly better if you're looking for a change of pace with FPS games, and want a more team oriented game with some nice movement in.

Lots of people seem to post similar to the above, gun play seems a little unsatisfying (Which may be due to not unlocking all the attachments and perks yet) and the movement is a little clunky, but overall the game is fairly good to play.

Yet another game with 'regen health'

zzzzzzzzzz

All games are getting it brah, even BF3.
Brink doesn't regen to full health, though.

Exactly the kinda issues I was afraid of so thats not inspiring to me :( way too much form over function.

Yeah it's a shame, I'm still getting it, I'm looking forward to a fun FPS with no worries about K/D ratio, and have fun with masses amount of customization with looks and guns. I'll be an enjoyment.

Besides, when most people wrote these reviews they only had medium body type, i was watching someone earlier who unlocked the light body type, the amount of speed and movement that was increased by having the light body was insane. You had to see it to believe it, but you do move VERY fast and well compared to the other 2 body types.

Ordered my copy from D2D, chances are ill play mostly as the 'spec ops' class is the main class i played in games like ET, ET:QW, KZ2 & 3 as they usually suite my kind of playing style.

Translation: Early items are ****, prepare to get raped by higher levels with considerably better equipment and abilities? Sounds quite true if as below, you have to actually unlock other body types...

I know but its kinda stupid in a game that also uses a Medic... suppose they didn't do too bad a job there though.

So TF2 Scout then...

TF2 was always fun for a few weeks then just became boring as hell for many months and I'd never touch it. Looking at the game it is almost as if they started designing the gameplay with tracing paper over TF2. Hell you're even escorting a robot at 1 point (ie, cart). If the SMART system is really unreliable then its just gonna be frustrating.

Do does Direct 2 Drive just give you a CD key? Sorry, I never used it before.

You just enter the key on your steam account i beleave and you download the files from steam. I brought a boxed game of black ops with cd and it basiclly worked the same way if i remember right.
The game will be part from your steam account anyway

Yes, it's under Games > Activate a Product on Steam...

I wish more games would use this feature. It's nice to have all the games in one place but also be able to shop around for the best price.

Agreed. I love getting it cheaper AND getting the DVD/the boxes/artwork etc AND then having it on steam!

no demo always wonder why ?
not much advertising only up till last minute does scream of a game thats gunna sink straight away . hope thats not the case but good games do normally get the advertising way before now .
