Reviews are a very mixed bag it seems, it's very love or hate. Like playing as a team and making synced pushes against the enemies to get to the objectives? You'll probably love it. Like being a lone wolf who rushes on his own and dies a lot? You'll probably hate it.

Steam forums have shown a massive opinion diversity when it comes to brink. But it seems to be getting a lot of attention, more than I expected.

It hasn't flopped, compare it to the attention which DA2 being all negative, THAT was a flop. The MP of brink will last well beyond what Crysis 2 will too, I'd say it wasn't as good as it could have been, but it's defo worth getting at some point.

Don't know if you've noticed but CS/CS:S have no real offline mode either and are 2 of the most popular online shooters a LONG time after release. CoD and BF have no offline mode either unlses you count a SP campaign which isn't the same thing.

This game is NOTHING like Borderlands and Borderlands was far from perfect too.

crap, this is not a good FPS fact

i doubt you even know what makes a good shooter do you, because if you think this is a good shooter then you have no idea at all.

this is a run and gun online team shooter, there are no tactics used/ cover system/ stealth etc, it is not a class act, it does not even look like much fun either; it looks totally bloody boring

you buy it, but i'd much rather play FEAR/ VEGAS 2 terrorist hunt.

If you don't like this so much, could you quit trolling the thread which you obviously have no interest in? Go back to playing FEAR/VEGAS for the rest of your days

Oh the irony. I suggest you read back over the rest of your posts in this thread if you want to see what a childish comment looks like.

Given that you act like you're gods gift to FPS gaming (because no one else knows what makes a good FPS game while you do), I think its a fairly safe bet that you're overcompensating and are actually a terrible player who thinks he's good.
 
Ugh, so much waffle in the last two pages :)

Baring in mind all of the reviews so far are for the Xbox 360 I believe. The PC version will look, feel and play differently and it *might* not have the some of the same issues than the Xbox 360 version has. Also, it's a smidge over £20 to get this game... if you think it's worth your £20 then by all means buy it, if you don't think it is then just move on. Please don't troll the thread and leave the thread for people interested in the game. If you're unsure about the game then maybe stick around, read the comments, check updates, wait for actual PC reviews and so forth then make a decision.

yes indeed, they do if you're fighting in real life, because cover/ stealth/ tactics is what keeps you alive; as does coordinating with your teammates and this should all be in a good shooter, it of course isn't but some games are better than others.

there is therefore not such a thing as a realistic shooter, but some FPS work well for other reasons.

why there isn't a realistic shooter is for many reasons, to be discussed elsewhere, but i'm very surprised that there isn't

no i'm not a troll i'm something else and i'm definitely posting in the wrong thread because this is getting too personal.
