BRINK

crap, this is not a good FPS fact

i doubt you even know what makes a good shooter do you, because if you think this is a good shooter then you have no idea at all.

this is a run and gun online team shooter, there are no tactics used/ cover system/ stealth etc, it is not a class act, it does not even look like much fun either; it looks totally bloody boring

you buy it, but i'd much rather play FEAR/ VEGAS 2 terrorist hunt.

whose talking crap ? because i think you are

Seriously, you already look foolish enough. Just be quiet. You don't like it, but you have not played it and you quote the above drivel as better.

You are coming across as either very young or very immature.

yes indeed, they do if you're fighting in real life, because cover/ stealth/ tactics is what keeps you alive

Well that just about sums it up then doesn't it. It's not real life derrrrrrrp

Best MP shooters in history (as agreed upon by most gamers), UT, Quake, Tribes, TF etc etc. none of which had any realism about them at all.

I don't even know why I'm discussing this with you. You play Fear and Vegas Single Player only, your last MP shooter was Fear Combat which was practically a fee mini-game, and you profess to be an FPS god. You're an idiot.

Thanks for the link, 1st impressions:

Sniper scope doesn't stay zoomed in to see the kill but maybe that's just how the player liked to do it

Thats 'cos the player thought he was pro and was trying to no-scope - more fool him

No real single player campaign, just a sequence of bot assisted team events/mods - booo! seriously boooo!

I think it's just too complicated to work online unless you become a fanboi of the game. Don't most people want to just fire up a shooter and get fragging right away?

As for these two points, most people who want to invest time in a good MP shooter dont care about a SP campaign. Infact most, including myself, would prefer a lot of MP games don't have one - such as new Battlefield games. The great shooters of olde and classic don't have SP either, CS, UT, TF etc. If it means their focus is going into the MP component, then that's good news for most MP fps fans.

As for the 'just fire up and get fragging' mentality. In the minds of many, again myself included, this is whats killing and simplifying to mindnumbing depths, the shooters of today. I want a shooter with depth, not some YOU'VE LEVELLED UP GRATS rinse, repeat rubbish that CoD churns out year after year. I want roles, team work, objectives and so on and so forth.

Oh the irony. I suggest you read back over the rest of your posts in this thread if you want to see what a childish comment looks like.

Given that you act like you're gods gift to FPS gaming (because no one else knows what makes a good FPS game while you do), I think its a fairly safe bet that you're overcompensating and are actually a terrible player who thinks he's good.

i might actually be a 60 year old gamer who fought in the Falklands, i cant play multiplayer because my reactions aren't as fast as they once were, i'm basically an old man now, but i still know what makes a good FPS, simply because i used to be a soldier and gaming like this will get you killed instantly in real life.

i game like you younger guys do, well why not, plus a few of my friends do too, but we cant do MP because it's too fast for us, good grief i'm not half as quick as i was when i was 20.

i'm crap at typing etc, yes but i'm only online about 3 hours per week.

So go play Arma and stop whining. You haven't got a clue what makes a good FPS game. If you are a 60yo ex soldier then what you have there is knowledge of what makes a good strategy in real combat, not what makes a good FPS game. If you haven't noticed, most FPSs feature a respawn which unless i'm very much mistaken, is a feature very much not present in reality.

You're online for maybe 3 hours a week and you spend your time trolling a Brink thread on OcUK?

Back to the thread. Timesplitters 2 was epic. I remember the night I was on MSN with a mates cousin and we basically started a new TS2 profile and played it throughout the night to get 105% (or whatever it was) completion as quick as we could. Good times.

I dont know, but imho i would think that a realistic game would be boring, 1 headshot kills and no respawn, if its a long game your going to be playing for a couple of minutes then in spectator mode till the game finishes.

The Sims 4: Modern Warfare? :D

You have to create your character. Then train him up for several years and enlist in the army. Complete training. Wait for a war, then get deployed into a 'real life' combat situation. If you die, so does your character and you've got to start again.

yes this is the problem with a realistic shooter, you die too easily, now when you die like this all the time it does get very frustrating, especially in GRAW.

to be honest it spoils the game, because when you respawn it's miles back at the last checkpoint, it should be 10 seconds earlier

i guess that i'm a bit annoyed that there aren't enough really good shooters being released right now, and seeing the BRINK videos reminded me of the FEAR COMBAT nightmare and i just got a bit ****ty here.

i'm fed up with nothing new to play, but i need to go offline now to chill out; play a bit of Borderlands

The game is set as a fictitious futuristic shoot 'em up. Can we stop comparing it to real life and "realistic" FPS's?

Lol at above ^ :D

yea it's my fault and i apologise for being a ****, i need to open my own thread so that we can discuss these things there, because we have some very interesting points to discuss.
