BRINK

when i woke up this morning and read some of the negative reviews i almost cancelled my pre order but then i remembered that most of the reviews are from the 360 version

but im still skeptical my biggest worry before all the reviews came out was lasting appeal and variety in the missions/gameplay and that's what a lot of the negative reviews mention

ill probably still buy the game but i will not open it and wait for some more pc reviews from players on this forum and others im a member on

Multiplayer games really need demos.

Agreed.

Does anyone remember when the rtcw Beach demo was released? On every server people were singing it's praises and talking about pre-ordering. Haven't seen anything like that since - it must have increased sales 2 fold.

I must admit, I've found the forum reviews I've found much more balanced. Mostly people who give pro's/con's to the game. The same problem is cropping up - bots and SP. I am buying the game for the MP only, so I'm not phased so far :)

Been watching this guy for a bit, PC gameplay over Steam if anyone wants to check it out. He swears a bit though sometimes, pre-warning.

Been watching a bit, he seems to like it and it's wetting my appetite for this. Cheers.
One thing if this is a pc stream, and slightly sorry to mention it, why does it say press "X" to revive?
Still really looking forward to playing this.

I just watched 5 mins or so of the stream - looks pretty good to me. Still not pleased about ironsights, but the lack of recoil makes it look like you can run and gun to some extent. Shame the crosshairs are massive!

eight men on each side is kinda disappointing no ?

No! Wolf was best in 6 vs 6. More people tends to equal more mess and random luck.

This trend of people wanting bigger maps, vehicles and more players in every PC fps is worrying. What happened to the purity of the death match arena? 2 men enter, one man leaves!

Exactly, a team based game with anything more than 8v8 is very difficult imo. Unless your playing with people you know very well it just ends up as an unorganised mess.

If anyone was downloading from D2D and not over Steam to pre-load and only had the 5.88GB EU client with no English option, they've just added a proper English client to the game downloads that's only 5.07GB, still no sign of the keys yet though.

Did you read reviews to purchase Mega drive games or SNES games? I personally used to buy Gamesmaster magazine and just read up on games - who cared about scores or what someone else thinks - if a game looked good, I would purchase it and enjoy it for what it was. I enjoyed games which others/reviewers probably slated. I just think that we read up too much on stuff before buying and trying ourselves. Even if they are slightly inflated, the standard of game these days has to almost be perfection or it doesn't warrant a purchase unless it's <£10
Its your money you decide but most PC gamers after a while get burnt badly blindly buying games in good faith so it becomes guilty unless proven otherwise! There is so much choice, everything looks good due to stale DX9 standards & money is tight for most sometimes its better for the publisher to sell a game @ £10 x a few hundread thousand copies digitally vs 50K @ full price!

Decent player reviews are worth 10 x their weight in gold! Good luck if you want to trust paid reviewers on what to buy! Its been proved time & time again you cannot trust a lot of paid reviewers as the website they work for needs advertising from games publishers to survive so do you really believe they will turn negative & run the risk of getting blacklisted it will mean no income = no work = no website. There has not been any big budget games getting poor reviews for a long time by mainstream websites the scale starts around 7 & goes to 9.5 if its COD or some other big budget game with an equally large advertising budget.

The good thing nowadays is that as a gamer you can see what people in the US think before buying here due to the usual 3 day delay or also look at live streams where players get it early & stream the gameplay that along with what players on Steam forums say is the best guide trusting paid reviewers will usually result in a massive letdown.

Not sure if others agree but after watching that stream the gameplay reminds me a lot of killzone 3 on ps3. Not that it's a bad thing as I quite enjoyed the mp component Of kz3. To those complaining about 8v8, I'm a massive battlefield fan and whilst big maps and large numbers are great, there is still fun to be had at 8v8. This game is clearly catering to a completely different audience.

Well the only people I trust for faithful reviews now are people on this forum.

Pro reviewers get paid for reviews.

Metacritic gets trolled by kids.

Various other sites where people can voice their opinions get trolled by people who have a vendetta against the devs/publisher/platform/competition etc.

From now on, all my purchases are going to be based soley on what the ocuk community says - so I'll be waiting til some of you guys have this game and give it a thumbs up/down before I make my decision.
