People who have bought retail copies now can't activate their game on steam, since they took the game down on the store. -_-

Considering sending mine back unopened and just buying witcher 2 instead.

This is complete tosh

even though its not up on Steam for UK people to buy you can still activate your retail copy fine. I just did.

I'm only having sound issues atm ive changed the setting that mutes audio when game looses focus and I haven't seemed to loose sound since.

Playing on a private dedi server seems fine atm. Only played it at home for about 40 mins.

I just activated my retail copy with the key and downloaded the game on steam rather than use the Disk to install.

So it is working

I had no problems personally. I can well believe that other people are having problems though.

Oh..I'm sure it won't be "fixed" in a few days. It might be somewhat closer to working though.

I can't join any I've set up and attempts to join other servers work maybe one time in 10 (not including times that the server is full).

edit: it's made more frustrating by the fact that I'm quite used to id tech like servers - q3, urt, rtcwet, etqw..etc..

Just as some are having frame issues and others aren't, yours worked - doesn't mean others aren't having problems. One of my friends can't activate his, others have reported it on steam forums.

They released a new patch and making first DLC in june free. On phone so cant post but says it fixes gpu issues

Yeah, I can actually have shadows now without the game lagging to ****.

I'm not sure it's actually fixable, the gun play is just horrendous, it's clearly been designed from head to tail with console controls in mind and it just doesn't work on a PC, the maps are small, the choke points are tiny the performance is chronically bad to the point where I have to question the abilities of those who made the game (compare this to cod, on an older version of the engine).

I'm very close to putting it down as my worst game of 2011.
