BRINK

Level 20 items are a hoot, like being able to shoot when down. So much fun just lying there, picking the enemy off with the Ceasar pistol, nobody seems to bother you. :D Gatling gun turret and Lazarus grenade are also great fun.
I alas fear the death of this game, I just can't see the masses playing it. I mean I have put 35 hours into the game, sad I know, and only now really ,do I have a pretty good general idea of the maps and their objectives; though not even scratched the surface of tactics for getting through objectives.

I'm sure this has already been covered but why can't I buy this on Steam?

I can't remember the exact reason (although I did read it somewhere), but wherever you buy it from it still activates on Steam. I downloaded mine from D2D and when you install the game it opens up Steam and prompts you to put in the product key, whereupon all files are transferred over to Steam and it appears in your games list as normal (with achievements etc). Hope this helps.

As far as the game goes, I've been doing a few pugs and (luckily) so far people I've been with seem to have some kind of organisation so weve at least been trying to do the objectives and people are playing thier roles etc.

I'm enjoying it. Performance wise I found I got a nice jump going to 11.5 drivers on Ati.

Yeah. I'm a bit concerned about that too. It's pretty much the same as ETQW - both in terms of the game being awesome and the game probably being a bit difficult for casual players to pick up.

Is this game worth getting? So many mixed reviews about it.

I'd recommend it, personally i'm in love with the game - initially it's not without flaws (mostly the random crash to desktop issue is what plagues me) but the fun fast-paced tactical gameplay makes this game so great to play.

It's heavily team focused, so if you're a call of duty player it might not be your cup of tea - that's not to say you can't go around and do things solo, you can (quite well in some situations) but you'll drop to the bottom of the scoreboard as points are rewarded on team effort.

Wait 2 weeks and it'll be £15, might get patched into a decent game in that time as well, don't get conned.

It's not a con even at the £30 I paid for it. It's an awesome game.

That's with the assumption that the posted will like it as much as most people in this thread rather than as much as yourself, of course.

I've not used it yet but I don't imagine it would be tbh. It's not that hard to hand out 2 or 3 revive syringes whilst under enemy fire.

True but the biggest advantage is the range, you have to get fairly close to throw the syringes

Well that is true so what sort of range does it have? I had a quick look at the official forum and there was 1 topic on Cortex Bombs that was hugely contradictory, with some people claiming it had a huge range but most saying it was fairly small.

5 bluescreens from playing Brink today in a collective total of 2 hours, and to top that off about 4 crashes to desktop trying to get past the menu.
I do love this game but seriously, one would have expected a hotfix sooner in the 10 days it was released.
So frustrating :(

I get the crashes to desktop often, usually always from the server browser and after already being in one server. Try to join a new one and bam 9/10 back to desktop.
I have a Ati 5850.
