BRINK

Impressive moves. Frankly though I've not been on Brink for ages and since I'm completely bottlenecked into playing Operative without sinking 30 hours into a different character so I can actually play another class I don't have much desire to come back atm.

Maybe some day they'll fix the piece of **** ability system but I doubt it. Either way I have no intention of buying the next game they release given the number of god-awful design choices in this one.

Yeh, the video is actually only half done and will stay that way, I have lots of collected footage but no desire to go through it and find the good parts, nor any desire to play the game any more. You can only get games at certain times of the day too otherwise all the servers are empty. Game is pretty much dead apart from a core crowd which are quickly leaving 1 by 1.

Current, Peak, Game

534 953 Alien Swarm
515 1,020 Plants vs. Zombies
500 1,193 BRINK

Says it all really. More people play the free game that Valve released over a year ago than play Brink. Hell more people play HL2 Deathmatch.

Nothing is more rage inducing than killing someone as Operative, moving forwards to Comms-Hack them only to get shot to **** as you approach by Downed Fire, make it to them in time to prevent them killing you, only for the hack thing to glitch and throw you past the target or stop hacking randomly which lets them finish you off, then you get to watch them stand up again with the medic Self-Revive.

Indeed. The core game and many of the ideas are fine. But so many of them are badly implemented or buggy it leads to frustration and the maps are always heavily biased to the defending team.

Has anyones performance died with dual cards? since the update of Brink yesterday my performance has died. I barely even reach 60fps with vsync.

Before this 20.xMB patch I was ranging 60 - 1xxfps everything enabled/checked at 1920x1200 on two 5870's. Usually always locked at 60 with vsync. Now it seems to be always lingering around 45fps no matter what or hardly anything on screen.

I'm still on 11.5b hotfix or whatever the last driver was right near the end of May with 11.5 CAP4.

Get the 11.6 Drivers. I just went Crosfire 5850 so not sure what performance was like before the update, but Im getting around 70fps everything maxed except no ambient occlusion.... when thats enabled fps drops to 35! Come on SD get it sorted, I wanna play it as it was meant to be played

Sadly the 11.6 drivers plus 11.6 CAP1 never improved anything for Brink but as I said in my previous post what my results were with 11.5b and 11.5 CAP4 before the Brink update...

Nor am I getting a fps boost when I disable all the fancy image effects.

You know you can reset all your points at the cost of one level, right?

No I didn't, but it doesn't make any difference. To swap to a different class and use it to its full effectiveness I have to give up a level (which if the max lvl is 20, means I lose rank 5) which can only be done outside a game.

It still doesn't address the major failing of this class based game in that you can't swap class and have your full potential mid-game, nor can you change body type. Its a game that offers a reasonable degree of choice right up until you get into a match, then you have almost none.
