**British Armed Forces Discussion Thread**

That's why I liked clothing regs, until recently. MTP can be ironed flat, no creases, and not tucked in.. shame it's now changed to what ever the unit wants. Queue creases and tucked in MTP, it looks awful.

Those jumpers are itchy and horrible. I had to wear them in phase one doing drill but plan to avoid them in future. As above you seem to get a lot of things that you never use.

For the past 8 months ive ironed creases in my MTP but last week they decided for some reason to change it and now its ironed flat yet unless you have new kit the creases are still visible.

Anyone got the new boots yet? I got sized up in July and cannot wait for them. The issue boots rip my feet to shreds on tabs.

We got the brown afghan issue couple of weeks back(Brown Suede desert issue), the meindls are pretty similar fit as the old beige desert ones, reasonably comfy for waling about in, but ripped my heal to shreds on a boot run, that said they were pretty new and are still a **** load better than the old black ones, i'm dubious on how long they will last though.
the other set of browns we were issued are called HIAX or something like that, look horrendous, big and clunky moon boots with hi rubber bumpers all round, not too bad comfort-wise however once you get over the looks and will no doubt take a beating, afterall it aint a fashion contest...

I'm under the impression that there were 5 different styles of Brown boot for different uses, these were the only 2 types recieved so far, yet to see any brown leather boots yet, also got issued black leather extreme cold weather boots.

Tucked in is so annoying. Forever re-tucking myself in.

Why go backwards?

People getting paid a lot more than me to make pointless decisions.

Some people are just stuck in their ways. Just a shame it's normally those same people who make these stupid decisions.

I went back to work today after 5 weeks on a course and it was sleeve's rolled up and shirt tucked in. Felt a bit weird when I put it on but hey ho. What can you do?

I de-kit in 3 weeks anyway :D

Anyone here from the RAF? im hoping to join as an non officer / enlisted and was wondering if your allowed to bring your computer with you after you finished your trade training and get put into single rooms? :D

I'm Army, but know a bit of RAF history, know what the job generally involves, where the RAF is based around the world, tell them about any physical preparations you've made. Prepare some questions of your own.

Try to be confident, speak clearly and make a good impression.

Good luck.
