British Grand Prix 2010, Silverstone Circuit - Race 10/19

Another classic from Ledgard after Vettel's pit stop for the puncture.

Brundle: "He's only just beat the medical car, that's such a slow lap he'll be nearly a lap down when he rejoins"

A few seconds later...

Ledgard: "Vettel is now at the back of the field if he goes on to win today this will be an extraordinary drive"

Yep and pigs fly Jonathan. :o

Nice pictures Duke! We must have been fairly close. I was sat in Luffield B M44-45 and your pictures looks almost the same :P

Thanks, yeah we were row J and had Tagg and Skeeter (who I met up with on the Friday with Muffin who was up for the day) one row in front, just a few seats along, which was quite funny.

I wonder who's Lotus Evora in black that is? It looks like an Evora to me anyway...

Yep was a Evora and didn't see it move whilst being there, so not sure who owned it.

I can't remember who had the Aston, I'm sure a driver jumped in it quickly and drove off but can't remember who it was.

The Bentley was the hotel owner I think as he had that space marked and came and went a few times.

Fauzy was driving a huge white Porsche 4x4 thing (can only see front part of it in the photo of Tony Fernandes). He came out and signed a few things too but didn't get a pic. So guess is Kovaleinen but never saw him myself.

I watched and skipped through the race coverage this morning. There were some epic random remarks from Legard again. Me & bro are making a quick Legard comedy site to contain them :) Will give the link when there is something up.

I have enjoyed some of the quotes this weekend regarding red bull

“Red Bull gives Vettel wings, Webber gives Red Bull wins."

"Red Bull steals your wings"

Quite a few leggard quotes too. Geez that guy is an idiot. Did you all catch it when he was talking about the drivers having adjustable REAR wings?

What, you mean, the implemented changes for 2011? ;)

In qualifying Jonathan Leggard started talking about the driver adjusting the rear wing when he meant adjusting the front wing. Annoyingly, Brundle didn't bother to interrupt him and it was left out there that drivers spend their races adjusting the rear wing. I think Brundle has just given up now.

I did not hear that, wasn't he talking about the F-duct when he was saying 'adjusting the rear wing' ?

I love all the comments about the commentary and the way the BBC puts the F1 program together. It's fine to me.

As long as BBC keep it so we don't have bloody adverts I couldn't care less what the director etc do.

As for the race, good stuff from McLaren :D

I dont quite get all the Leggard hate, i seem to remember Murray Walker making equal amount's of poor remarks, only people loved him for them.

The difference is, "Murrayisms" were charming results of a very knowledgable commentator getting so excited that his mouth ran quicker than his thought-process. Leggard just talks rubbish.

Still, the BBC show and commentary are orders of magnitude better than ITV was at the end.

Personally I preferred James Allen as a commentator. End of the day their job is to just keep talking so of course a certain amount of rubbish is going to come out... but Leggard just takes it to a whole new level.

I must say I didn't like Allen when he was commentating, but he was much much better than Legard. There are other good options out there too.

Now Massa is a good driver he's just had a hell of a lot of bad luck also he's got to put up with Ferrari favorably treating Alonso because the spanish *** would get even more moody otherwise!

Massa was definitely a good driver. I rated him very highly before this season.

This season however, Alonso has shown that he can be put at the back of the grid and he still has the speed advantage over his team mate, such that he can pull up behind him, after overtaking umpteen cars. Monaco was a great example.

Its almost like Massa has just given up and accepted his fate.

With regards to Ferrari giving Alonso preference - if you had a driver like Alonso with such an overwhelming speed advantage, reputation and history of winning races/titles - would you not want to do everything possible to ensure he keeps winning?

The way I see it is that if you are going to hire Hamilton or Alonso (at considerable expense), you have to basically give them all the tools to get the job done (ie. win at the highest level). To treat them in exactly the same way as you would somebody who has never won a race/title, would be scandalous and would show poor management.
