Sutil not happy with Vettel's last gasp overtake:

http://www.planetf1.com/news/3213/6256086/Sutil-unhappy-with-Vettel-move

"It was good racing and I defended my position well against Vettel until the final lap, but then he just seemed to drive into me and I lost the racing line and had to move over," Sutil said. "Otherwise I don't think he would have got past me.

Vettel using his car as a weapon again he must have played too much Gran Turismo as a teen. :p:o

Surprisingly, no rant from Alonso. He accepts his penalty. Good, he was the one in the wrong.

LOL, you honestly think that's his real opinion? :)

Patently obvious to me that Ferrari have instructed him, in no uncertain words, to "button it" and make nice with the press statements. They're probably terrified that any more criticism of the FIA will result in some form of sanction.

Not a bad race, well done Webber it's nice to see him fighting back against the apparent favouritisn. Button did well and Hamilton is cementing his title hopes in a car well off the Red Bull pace.

Alonso is a chancer and he is too emotional to take the outcome of his gambles equally. If he'd been a more level headed driver he'd have let Kubica through and nailed him next lap, instead he chanced it and the luck didn't run with him and ruined his entire race.
Button in contrast seems to always take the small gains and make more right calls without massive risks and in the long run it's turning out well.

Alonso blames everyone but himself, a better balanced man would understand and accept the risk in a way Alonso can't. It's a shame because I think only Hamilton is a match for Alonso in pure driving turns, with a calm head he's be the best driver bar none imo.

Yet more garbage from Horner:

We found ourselves in a situation we didn't want to be in with one wing, that we wanted to run – and whichever side of the garage it was going to go to, one side was going to be unhappy

Anyone would think, from his comments, that they'd brought a single wing to the event and had to decide who got it. The fact that they had a wing for each driver yet, when Vettel's broke, they gave him Webber's, is a very important distinction and seems to be totally glossed over.

This is basically saying to Vettel that he had two wings available whilst Webber would only get one if Vettel didn't need one of his two. Their treatment of Webber was a disgrace IMO. Such actions would only be excusable if only one driver was a factor in the championship, which clearly wasn't the case here. The "fair" thing to do would have been to give each driver a wing and then tell each of them that it's their only one and, if it fails, they'll revert to the older model.

Alonso has really lost the plot. To the extent that it's just silly.

Whereas hammi is becoming calmer and more confident with every race.

imo it says a lot for Button's ability that he gets anywhere near hammi.

As for Red Bull - way too sure of themselves. If they want to win the championship they will have to start acting more sensibly.

As for Webber, well considering he used to be a journeyman, he's doing a very good job.

I wonder if people like Brundle still perceive Alonso as "the most complete F1 driver on the grid". Or has the status quo now changed?

He is a complete **** but this season despite some bad luck and poor decisions from the team like today, he's still by far the fastest driver on the grid. He ragging more out of his car week in week out than anyone else. His pace despite being in by far the 3rd best car is frankly awesome.

I think the mistakes come from far far exceeding the car, if he had a car as good as the red bull the title would be over now.

I think its pretty safe to say that ferrari are by no means that far down on mclaren, the car itself is probably ahead of mclaren now courtesy of a working EBD upgrade.

Its mclarens driver duo who are on excellent race form at the moment which is making the difference, alonso hasnt raced well for quite a long time and massa has been useless all year.

two things of note imo

1) it was noted in the commentary that while in free air the Ferrari was as fast as the Red Bull of Webber (admittedly I cant remember if this was during Webber going full speed or wther he was already "managing" speed/fuel, but even so I wouldnt say its definitely 3rd best car)

2) Whether the Ferrari is good or bad as a car, the team and Alonso both keep on making major ***** ups - which are nothing to do with the car's performance as such, and not only that but there have been several races already where Ferrari have "naturally" been absolutely nowhere in comparison

All imo, and to be honest Im REALLY glad (like Vettel) that Alonso is getting his cummupance which is fully deserved. If he didnt act like a petulant child so often my view might be different :)

No way, the Ferrari may be 3rd best, but it's not light-years behind the McLaren and utilises both trick pieces compared to the McLaren's one.

Even if he was in an RB the season would be far from over.

Still, it was a lame decision today.. but they won the world cup.. so he can take some solace.

You would have to be barking mad to suggest the ferrari is better or close to the performance of Mclaren. Alonso is on the edge on just about every session to try to get the Ferrari up there while his team mate pootles about in the lower end of the field.

They are making mistakes as a team because they are pushing hard with a car that isn't up to it.

If Alonso had a car that was the equal of the rest the championship would be over, hes making mistakes purely because he has to push so much harder than the rest with a car that isn't up to it and the upgrades they made just don't give the prmoised returns.

I can understand the dislike for the guy, he's utterly detestable but his race pace is about the best I've ever seen. If he was in a red bull no one would watch anymore because he'd have won last year and this year would already be over.

Yes Alonso is a big gay hissy fit but my god he is wringing the neck of that car.

You can't compare the two as Hammy is in a better position. If the tables had turned (i.e. Alonso got a 'fake' penalty for jumping the safety car) it would be interesting to see how Hammy would take it. Last time the results weren't coming in for him, he went very childish?

He did at first, But grew up a lot through that season tbh. I honestly don't think he would moan as much as Alonso would. "Hammy" is more likely to just get annoyed and put in some silly lap times to try and catch up.
