British Grand Prix 2011, Silverstone Circuit - Race 9/19

Will be a little commentary blurb in there I'd imagine, about 30 mins of.

So 3pm race finish?

The races are usually 1.5hrs (2.30pm) but max is 2hrs without stoppages like AH mentioned.

With the way they are stopping races and bringing out the SC lately anything could happen lol

Local weather reports are showing medium-medium high (40-65%) chance of sporadic short showers during the race duration.
Should be interesting if thats the case.

All drivers commit to personal appearences with sponsors it is what makes the sponsorship seem important to the sponsors.

If Lewis thinks he will be allowed to slack off in that respect he is deluded imho, it will be rescheduled possibly, not stopped.

I enjoyed the movie, even though it just made me hate Prost even more :D

Funnily enough, after watching that movie, it made me respect Prost more. He comes across as a very nice person. Senna...I could never respect someone like that.

He accepts that, it's the amount he does, that he doesn't like. How much mclaren do compared to others I don't know as media tends to only focus on him and button.

Indeed.

After all, the sponsors pay the bulk of the team's wages. If a sponsor says jump, the team have to say, "how high?"

I do think though that Hamilton will be able to negotiate his contract in such a way that he will make fewer media commitments. I don't think that this will be impossible.

In other news, I am hearing from a source of mine, that 'Custard' is likely to lose his race seat next year, as he's yet to impress compared to his teammate (I dont think that is entirely his fault) but also because other drivers want to pay more $$$'s.

Melt down?

It's the way he phrased it, he sounded like a petulant child, "If you think you're going to make me do something I don't want to do you've got another thing coming."

I was impressed with the way he handled his interview yesterday afternoon "There's not much to say about quali but the fans are fantastic and I hope we can do something special for them tomorrow" – That was the voice of a pro taking a bad day at the office on the chin, unlike his "is it coz I is black" outburst.

Yesterday I thought he was growing up a bit, this morning he's right back where he started.

Maybe the article writer was paraphrasing but if it was a direct quote then it sounds like another classic Hamilton meltdown to me.

I don't see it like that, it's a firm statement close to contract time.
Why does every time he makes something clear he's a child, when Alonso or other top drivers do it. They're doing it for a reason.

In fairness, I think they sound childish as well, but then I am an old man :D

Anyone know what Mansell was on about regarding Nasa carbon fibre?

All the people at the top are holding the line "this is very technical stuff and the public know very little of what's actually going on"

Think about it this way - what do you think happens to bodywork when you blow hot exhaust gasses over it?

I agree with Dr Who – Alonso is even worse than Hamilton IMO.

I think he's his own worst enemy because if he hadn't had a hissy hit after Monaco then his statement today might have come across more authoritative rather than whiny.
