British Grand Prix 2011, Silverstone Circuit - Race 9/19

It's almost as if they have made every effort to ensure that everybody who watches the advert knows that it is dubbed...badly.

And the worst thing is that somebody actually got paid to do the (bad) dubbing.

For me the problem with the McLaren isn't so much the downforce (or lack of) or the blown diffuser so much as the chassis stiffness and the suspension. Both last year and this it has been apparent that McLaren have to set their cars up VERY stiff on suspension compared to the likes of Red Bull in order to be competetive. The evidence for this is how much their cars 'bounce' on the bumps - especially under braking - compared to the RB7 or the Ferrari. Has anyone else noticed this?

This MUST have an effect on their corner entry speed. mid-corner balance and corner exit-speed - pretty much everything crucial! The RB7, aside from all its' other trickery, just looks so composed in comparison. Has the McLaren design team gone up a blind alley in the last couple of years?

It's a McLaren trait and has been for many years. If the car is stiff, it's aerodynamically stable.

That's exactly what happens tbh. Same with all the loreal and other female hair and skin products. People notice and remember it BECAUSE it's so bad. Advertisers win.

Plus the constant locking up of a front wheel under braking,

I was SO gutted JB couldnt compete MW for the podium (and given how close Mark was to SV, JB could have been 2nd....or 4th) I can only just bare to come back into this thread

I dont know how it happens - but why is it seemingly always when the team **** up on LH's behalf he still finishes (and wipes himself out of other races), JB who rarely (and never at McLaren as far as I recall) NEVER wipes himself out, but the team **** him up totally so he cant even finish (Monaco last season and Silverstone this).

Whats more galling is the loss of points in repsect to Hamilton esp

edit - I admit the first part of his race was awful - but he was certainly making up for it (and more imo) before the 2nd / fateful pitstop

some times you just have to go with the flow so to speek. :D;)

No offence - but thats a lot easier to say looking back. Without trying something different the Brawn would have been a very average car, and the RB could have been midpack the last two seasons.

Got to love how this forum always goes on about Mark being given a slower car than Seb but, when Webber is in a quicker car nothing is mentioned,funny that. Maybe he only has a quicker car when Sebs pit stop strategy was changed to favour Mark? Then,what do i know?

<devil's advocate>
Probably because when Mark is in a quicker car he gets told he's not aloud to overtake Golden Boy. Then, what do I know?

Broadly speaking, it is in every team's interest to have both drivers score as many points as humanly possible. It would be business suicide to heavily nobble one driver to allow another to do better.

Not really, just wonder how Mark managed to get anywhere near Seb in the race when sebs car is apparently "Quicker". Its just a simple question.
