Broken spark plug :(

Yes, I'll go and try that and no oil in the cooling tank, it does however give a puff of smoke on startup and after letting it idle for a few mins then blipping the gas.
 
Could be damage to the bore that i / we talked about before, i'd be shocked if that bit of metal exited the engine without causing some damage, doesn't take much of a mark for excess oil to get in.

Doesn't sound like oil from the turbo, if the shaft was bent you would know about it.
 
I'm just going to take it to an Engine specialist near me that all the local garages recommned. I need the car asap and I'm pretty sure that the cylinder bores are ok as are the pistons from what I can see. I don't expect the bill to top £1000 at this place as they work on £35p/h.
 
The situation this car/engine is now in - I would say the head has to come off.

Only then will you be able to get the full picture.

Are you not going to try and get TMS to cough up at all?
 
Lets be realistic, can we see TMS paying for this after it's been put back to standard? Sure they fitted the plugs but they took the map off also so they're just gonna say its a consumable. They only way I can see them paying for it is if the map wasn't took off for a dodgey map was put back on. I'll find out tomorrow as a mate with a Tech2 is popping round.

I'm still in limbo about that though, could be weeks. HR just keep saying they'll get back to me.
 
It's a piece of crap it really is. Sure some of it is my fault but pretty much everybody at VXROnline are running a modded car without issue! Anyway the service manager got in touch earlier to arrange for my car to be taken to my local performance center. I just got to find somebody to tow me now.

I expect you'll have a fight on your hands... but if they supplied and fitted the parts...
 
I somehow missed this thread yesterday :(.

As the others have said, those plugs don't look too great - and not just the missing bits of #2 :eek:.


Isn't this usually the point where Thorney buys the car back? Or do we need a few pages of "He's a decent tuner, honest" first?
