I think the usual suspects will file into line for the 4090 but where AMD can disrupt things is for the 4080 launches which is already looking like it's going to have a pretty poor take up judging by the poll but AMD need to not fall into Nvidias trap of silly pricing else people will ignore their cards also and just buy up the 3000 series which is exactly what nvidia wants.

But amd are the good guys!!!!

But in all seriousness, cpu space is different since amd are dominating there, they don't have the "mindshare" in the gpu space to get away with similar tactics.
they lost mine with a cpu that by design jumps to 90-95c, most gamers are trying to keep parts cool and quiet then now you have that joke of a cpu design

It not MSI, actually it is EVGA terminated their partnership with Nvidia but it not because EVGA not making enough money on their GPUs. Accorded to insiders and former employees, EVGA's GPU business are profitable, CEO Andrew Han made too many bad business decisions, micromanagement, disrespectful and abusive treatment toward EVGA employees. They dont like Andrew.

Now EVGA AMD X570 motherboard owners posted messages with excitements to look forward to buy EVGA AMD AM5 X670 motherboards but unfortunately someone posted a message informed EVGA CEO Andrew Han told Gamers Nexus EVGA not currently working on AMD AM5 motherboards. Guess EVGA will be no longer make AMD motherboards.
Intel announced Raptor Lake CPUs today.

EVGA announced 2Z790 motherboards Kingpin and CLASSIFIED.

Interesting, EVGA is now make Intel Z790 motherboards only exclusive so no more Nvidia GPUs and AMD AM5 motherboards.

Nice boards. :D Hope they have enough supply and not run out of them like last time with Z690 and X570s and actually ordered more to be made.

Just seen the same card on another big site @ £2,400 and change

4090s will all end up at £2.5K + you wait .. This is why I am not even entertaining this generation of computer updates.. The prices and power use is too silly and our economy is just a mess to be investing in such expensive updates, the only good thing that will come out this is the companies with the silly pricing will hopefully get a wake up call we have all had enough of the prices and games being played to make us all jump on a product because it's in so short supply and we are so so so lucky to get one at any price. Meeh enough..

New CPUs on sale and everything in stock for hours everywhere. No one's got the cash for it this time. Be 4090s sat at RRP for months.
New Zen 4 CPUs require £300+ motherboard and DDR5. Even with the cheapest 7600X you are looking at least £800 combo. The performance isn't that impresive either in compare to previous gen, Zen3d or Intel 12th gen and in few weeks 13th gen. Due to all that people are waiting for cheaper options or they just don't have any reasons to upgrade.

4090 can be used with a current setup and doesn't require new motherboard or RAM so it's not really accurate to compare it to new Zen 4 CPUs but still it's extremely expensive GPU for most people.

Thats not very accurate at all, so I can put a 4090 in my sons current setup 600w PSU with a 5600x CPU and it will be fine ? I dont think so. It only has 2 x pcie for a start on the PSU.

For me, it's

You can buy multiple CPU's+motherboard's for the cost of a single 4090.

First of all it was about people not buying Ryzen 7000 CPUs so this is completely out of context and second PSUs are not that expensive after mining boom ended, you need a good 850W+ which cost less than £100.
In my current setup I have Corsair HX1000 can I use it with 4090? Yes I can and Corsair is also selling 600W PCIe 5.0 12VHPWR power cable which can be plugged directly into PSU so you won't need and adapters which are included with 4090.
