BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

My service is absolutely gash tonight, i usually get 72 / 15 with 20 ms ping :(

yeah I usually get 75mbs/17.5, I can barely scrap 1 atm.

Its probably the modem.

Before I had mine replaced, my previous modem used to drop speed too.

Since the new one, its been as good as gold, holds its speed and stays up for months on end.

No idea what was going on last night, I definitely wasn't downloading and the router showed little throughput.

Speeds were fine, just pings up 10ms or so. TBH I didn't notice a difference

I saw that ping blip last night too, but overall pings and jitter don't seem to be as good as my old ADSL connection to a lot of locations on pingtest.net where I previously had negligible jitter to most. It's going to be a long 18 months.

I had massive issues last night as well. Went from 71/16 to 10/12 with terrible pings. Will give it another go tonight and see how it's doing.

Annoying this as my workplace is looking for a fast connection in Radcliffe but literally they're the only exchange that isn't planned to be upgraded for a good year or so in the area!

Had a friend she looked at a house in Radcliffe, but pulled out of the contract, because of no BT Infinity.

Most of the exchanges around Radcliffe are enabled, but Radcliffe exchange is something like end of 2013 - start of 2014,wonder why.:(

bit disapointed with torrents and upload speed outside of peek times, I am all for limiting upload etc during peek times but after midnight I seem to be capped at around 100kb/s which sucks :'(

Really getting sick of being throttled especially when trying to download gameclients/data that can use p2p as it goes 2 slow. Especially considering I barely download much as it is!

Would getting a VPN bypass this throttling? and are there any people really recommend for bt infinity?

So with a new deadline approaching (June 30th), who else is keeping fingers and toes crossed that this time we might actually get connected?

In the last 3 months I've seen the cabinet installed and Openreach vans at the side of the road feeding cable into the floor, not seen anything in the last 6 weeks or so.
