Works fine using openDNS
WNDR3700, if you want another Netgear. Have a close look at the table of hardware.

all installed, couldn't find a sync at first was quoted 17 down 4 up.

By "the router", do you mean the VDSL modem?
No, you can't get rid of that and just use a HH3 AFAIK.
Very unlikely. It's usually max sync from day 1.

looking into getting BT infinity, not sure how long this has been available to my area but they say we can receive it. currently i am on a slow connection of around 2.5mb because i am quite far away from the exchange, the website says i can receive around 53mb download speed, how accurate is that number? seems a bit far fetched to me.

On Infinity 2 that will be doable unless you're really far from your cabinet.
Gone with BT Infinity anyway with the calls and internet unlimited package..i hope i dont live to regret it! its been installed on the 7th of september! i will be back with questions then no doubt as this thread is enormous now!

Well I'm supposed to be getting Infinity2 31-Sep-12 but I have zero confidence that this date won't just get "pushed out" again!
