BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

Just tested mine... (and just for comparison mate)

...as for getting out, if memory serves me right I could have sworn there is a minimum speed limit set by BT and your d/load falls way below it!

My three connection is much much faster at night, this has been going on for a month now, so I'm going to ask for some sort of compensation as I'm not getting anywhere near the service I'm paying for.

Also BT ELC are onto this but have no ETA on a fix.

With virgins heavy recruitments were I live internet is now unbearable had between 1000-5000 ping all day from 9am til now and it persists this happens 7 days aweek gets even worse during peak times, contacted virgin and the most they are willing to offer is £10 and wouldn't budge on that looked at going with sky but virgin say I would have to buyout the contract (6 months left) if I decide to do that.

so now im stuck with internet that's worse than dial up cant do streaming gaming, websites take forever to load they wont even give me a good amount of credit/compensation and wont even let me contract without trying to sting me for more cash even though they admit its a "known fault".

What the hell can I do!

Sickening whenever any fault goes on so long but the fact the ELC are involved I would take a little more comfort. I myself have only had to deal with them once and albeit not just as speedy a resolution for me or them, I still walked away a happier person. Hope you get sorted very soon mate and with a positive result too.

anyone here having issues the infinity and vent/xfire or yahoo messenger

they all seem to disconnect me at the same time but i stay in game and then they reconnect. Very strange :/

He isn't compos mentis.

From what I have read, Ratty has not made any insults to customers, instead he has commented on the so called people who think they know everything. Maybe this is the start of the clean up operation by BT on it's forums to have just experts answering customers rather than other customers who think they know what they are talking about.

Quite the fantasy land he lives in.

So what is the truth of the matter? Do BT have undercapacity on Infinity, or is it the result of fibre lines being damaged?

I vote under capacity.

I have a remote session with BT ELC on Thursday night, so I will see how that goes. Wasn't as bad tonight, dropped to 14mb instead of 3, but still a fall from the solid 75mbit during the day.

I Think Virgin are upset with me for leaving them for BT...

It's been getting progressively slower since I got my MAC number off them at the end of December!

I'd quite happily stay with them if they would either give me Fibre to my door, or get with the times and go FTTC.

I'm a tad annoyed as I'm still paying for this service till my BT goes live (and the 3 months extra to 'Buy' my way out of the contract!). I Dare not dial into my office with speeds like this!!

Hah, that's terrible. It's never too late to try and get money back from Virgin, give them a call and complain. You're still paying and receiving service after all!

Oh well - some horror stories I have been reading :(

The BT Infinity engineer is visiting on Friday to install. The people we bought this house off had it installed previously, so all the sockets etc. are already there.

I really hope I get close to the speed they advised (30 MB/s Down - 5 MB/s Up), because 3MB/s over standard ADSL is killing me :(
