BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

Fancy trust'ing me those contact email addresses? I wouldn't mind if the speed had reduced to improve stability, but I had noise on the line when it was put in and again a week later, so I knew it was going to screw up my profile but didn't expect it to stay low after they'd "fixed" the noise twice.

I'm synced at 48000kbps yet I see my attainable as 65000kbps ffs

Can't give out details for contacting ELC, if its a general BT issue and your completely hitting a wall then you'll probably have to contact Ian Livingstone directly who will allocate a ELC contact, can also try via BT Care on the BT forums but seems a bit hit or miss if you get dealt with properly.

Otherwise for line issues I've ended up emailing [email protected] - only something I've done as a last resort tho. (i.e. when we had a BT openreach engineer come around to fit a second line he left, leaving both lines non-functional and support was completely disinterested in dealing with it and claiming it would take atleast 2 weeks before they could get someone on it - then multiple times not actually even booking anyone to do it).

After the disappearance of details from the Wholesale checker got this back from NGA:

Our systems indicate that work is ongoing with the deployment of your cabinet and, if all goes to plan, we are hopeful the cabinet will be ready for service early-mid August 2013, barring any complications.

The wait continues.

Well details for our town have also recently disappeared from the checker so I'm going to assume roughly the same timescale. Most of the cabinets are in although I don't know if the fibre has been blown, dslam installed etc. I did see some men were working on it late Friday afternoon though.

That's the same response i got, word for word even the dates.

I bet we had a response from the same person, a lady called J. Maybe just a generic reply. She said to look at the site which tells whether your exchange is accepting orders which is useless.

New toy arrived..

BT openreach are scheduled to install fibre at my home next thursday. Should acheive 53D/13U which will be a bit of an upgrade from 5D/0.5U.

Excited :D.

I will explain my install today.

Got a phone call at 29 past 1 from the engineer to say guy was at the cab and needed access to the property (was here anyway so that wasn't a problem) ;) He informed me phone line would go down (and internet) which it did came back up about 15/20 minutes later with all his tools so forth. He was a little confused where things we're to go at first but once that was sorted he played about with line (machine thingy) done some tests. Showed me I was syncing at 51MB (had it on his paper I was quoted at 41.6 down and 6.5 up) yeah as I said his machine showed me I was syncing at 51 would likely settle down and possibly even increase to about 60 (he told me I would get higher) installed the different faceplate went through the process of ihooking up hub/infinity modem done 1 or 2 more tests er his machine made a call to I think turn the broadband on with his thing and that was that. Explained a few things me happy :D (Didn't even want a tea or anything) ;)
